New car smell from replacing upholstery?

Okay I know that new car smell a lot of people love is from off gassing and it's not good for your health. Yada yada yada But I was curious if I purchased new headrests and floor mats, would they have that same new car smell? I would purchase all OEM stuff.

"Off gassing", sounds like another hypochondriac thing to worry about. If off gassing is really a thing, then why all these years have leather treatment products touted returning "that new car smell"? Of course, if your bodily system rebels it won't smell good. But it might just be psychosomatic. When my Stinger was brand new, my wife actually objected to the new car smell at first, and I objected to her objecting. When nothing happened she calmed down and never mentioned it again. Hah.
