New Images of the 400Z... somethings I like, and some I don't... the rear spoiler really looks like an afterthought

I like it a lot. Looks fantastic! :)

I'm a huge Z-fanboy so I know I am very biased. I am so glad Nissan is bringing out the 400Z and I really do hope and pray it is a huge success! :D

My Lovely Bride has Declared Thusly: A new 400Z will replace her cherished 2004 Z Touring ;) They still come with manual (rare nowadays) and is mostly based on the 370Z chassis to keep development costs down. That twin turbo V6 may challenge my GT ('cause her current n/a 3.5L V6 doesn't stand chance as i often remind her... ;)

She's a keeper! :D - I seriously looked at the 370... just too impractical for me

It better be a success. Nissan is on it's last legs.

I'm with @RedCal. Some things I like, others, like the front grille and headlights, I don't. I also don't fit in these cars so could really care less about it. They are not designed for anyone over 6' tall.

Here is a video showing better angles of the car and the interior. Pre-production but will likely not change that much.

The back of the car looks just fantastic!!!! The front.....not aggressive enough.

I have confidence in Nissan! They were once one of the greatest and should be able to get their name back after the 400z hits the streets and everyone loves it! :D

I don't think you can save the company by building sport coupe. There's no market for these kind of cars in today's environment.

Perhaps wishful thinking on my end...

It might not be the sport coupe itself... but there is a chance it will cause people to talk about Nissan more (directly or indirectly) and that might increase the company's sales in other departments...

:whistle::whistle::whistle:

Total let down. Nissan converted the Z, like many of its other vehicles (including the Infiniti line) on parts bin specials.

Nothing innovative about it, just a redesigned interior, taken directly from 370Z and slapped a couple of screens on it.
Drivetrain and engine are just the same as the one in the Red sport and the same 6spd from the current Z34. Same goes for the suspension, straight from the Z34.
Exterior is over done, trying too hard at making retro cool again.

Back when engineers and car enthusiasts, rather than accountants, where in charge of designing vehicles at Nissan, the Z line was innovating and competing with the best in their class, this included some exotics and higher end cars. Sadly those days are gone and Nissan is just on its last leg.

Thank goodness we have the Stinger. :D

I guess if you like an extra serving of boring with your $80k car. To each his own.

The price will probably start in the mid-40s to undercut the Supra 3.0.

Maybe you're thinking of the GTR? But that's more than $80k, so idk...

^

although the GTR's have become inflated with pricing... I would be stunned if the 400z isn't going to be priced between $38k-$52k via MSRP depending on options and trim... :D

Cute. Midgets need sporty cars, too.

[other than the Miata]

Agree, interior and exterior look tight and understated. My style of styling. Too bad Nissan is likely gone in 5 years.

Coming from a owning a 370Z for over 7 years and have owned a G35 Coupe (Sister to the Z) and driven 350Z's, a 280ZX, and been in a 260Z (too young to drive at the time) - I can say I have been a big Z fan. This one - I'm not so sure about. Big disappointment - not keeping with tradition and keeping the engine size in the name. If it was so it would be the third 300Z, not a 400Z. It's not a 4 liter. It looks like it should be an electric car not a gas powered sports car. robz32 really nailed it on the penny pinchers in the design cost control department. One good thing - it least it is still a JDM car at heart, and not some massaged over Euro brand. I hate to say it - but thumbs down from me.
