Hi all, my name is Rob. Recently picked up a 22 Stinger GT-Line with 39,700 miles in Ceramic Silver with Red interior. Traded in my 2018 Audi TTS (need to fit both my kids and occasionally my wife). Wanted something more affordable but I need to address sound, speed, and braking to get it closer in feel to my old car.

  1. [DONE] See Notes below --- Muffler delete on both sides and weld in vibrant ultra-quiet resonators (1140) for a deep, non-raspy moderate exhaust tone. (Exhausts for 2.5L are slim picking. I think this will be fine)
  2. Install a piggy back (JB4). Keep off/0 for now. Also considering the afe scorcher as a set it and forget it option.
  3. Replace spark plugs with HKS and reduce gap to .022 mm
  4. Test JB4 Map 1, then map 2 with 93 Oct.
  5. [Q Below] When brakes need replacing, get some R1 Geo Rotors and the EBC Yellow pads.
  6. Cover the gunmetal chrome trim bits in black vinyl.
I feel like I need 50% more exhaust sound, as I hear nearly no exhaust from inside - it's very odd. 15% more HP. And 20% more braking power.

If I can get that tiny bit more out of the car I think I'll be satisfied. Thoughts?

1 * After having this installed it was quite loud and the drone in the cab at 44hz was kinda unbearable. I ordered two additional 4-inch TOTALFLOW 6643B resonators to install but I have halted those plans because the sound has mellowed out (now they sit in my basement). After approximately 100 Miles, the loudness of that frequency as well as all other sounds have decreased and now sounds very pleasant. I am happy with this modification and would recommend it.

5 * 4-15-25 - I'm having an issue finding the R1 Geo Rotors. Does anyone know where or when they will become available? How much better are they over e-line?

Happy to meet you all!

I'm glad to hear we had an impact on your purchase and I'm highly confident you'll enjoy the Stinger experience. :)

Hey Rob,

Welcome to the forum and congratulations on your Stinger!

It sounds like you are off to a great start with good plans, I love the passion behind your research.

Performance brakes for the 2.5 are a little bit harder to come by, but if you send my team an email with what you are looking for, they will get back to you with pricing on those, or a competitive/relative option!

Thank you. When I get closer to needing to replace I will be on touch.

Welcome brother!! 2.5Ts deserve love too!! I’ve had mine for 2-3 months and still can’t make up my mind what to mod first.

Congrats! I've decided to take a step back on the JB4 for now. So far just vibrant ultra quiets put in and the N-Line shifter. Tbh I didn't know just how nice the shifter would feel. Probably the smallest yet most noticeable thing since you interact with it every day.
Buffed out the gunmetal door trimming, it was really bad. Relocated the front license plate.

Better Rotors, pads will be replaced when due.
Larger wheels and Conti DWS when the tires are due.

I have the new damper in had in case I have an issue again with "Park" not being sent to the BCU.

Likely next will be blacking out the gunmetal window trims, grille and side vents. And mild window tint

And end with the JB4 and plugs.

What have you been thinking of doing?

UPDATE - May 15 2025

Test JB4 Map 1, then map 2 with 93 Oct.

4. When brakes need replacing, get some R1 Geo Rotors and the EBC Yellow pads.

5. [UPDATE] Cover the gunmetal chrome trim bits in black vinyl, and replace/cover grille and side vents black as well.
Buffed out for now. Will likely still black it out, or do visors and black out the back trims.

6. [DONE] N-Line shifter and boot

7. [DONE] Side mount the license plate

8. 19" wheels and Conti Extreme Contact DWS when tires need replacing

9. Lowering springs after wheels and tires. Likely Eibach Pro, but still evaluating.

1 * After having this installed it was quite loud and the drone in the cab at 44hz was kinda unbearable.
