Hey Everyone! Got myself a 2022 Stinger last month in the forest green or I think they call it “akorn” green or something.

Not planning much for the car other than intake and exhaust since even the new exhaust system I feel is a little to mellow. I did do straight pipes and two vibrant resonators, the sound is nice but seems to be a bit to much drone for the kiddo to handle. Seems on MBRP site they say there exhaust is set for 2018+ Anyone know if this covers the 2022 model year or if Borla exhaust for on the 2022?

Welcome! I think it should fit but you’ll lose the valve exhaust.

Howdy. That would be Ascot Green. :D

Thank you!

I already lost the Valve since I added the straight pipes and vibrant resonator. My plan was to go with that for now, then wait and see if Borla, MBRP or any other company comes out with an exhaust that takes advantage of the wiring for the valve. Thing is the car seems to be a little to loud right now that’s why I was thinking of switching it to a Borla or MBRP

Yup you got it! Don’t know why they couldn’t just go with Forest Green lol, but either way I love the color

Welcome to the forum and congrats. Don't get too many of that colour on this forum. Send some pics.

I love the color I’m looking into getting a ceramic coat done to give it some protection

Welcome, nice choice of color!
Such an unusual green colour. Looks like it will change dramatically depending on the light.
This is the first model year that color has been available in here N. America, I'm sure we'll be seeing more soon.

Yes I'm sure. We don't get that colour in Australia...yet.

I put the MBRP and Ark secondaries on my 22. They fit fine, but as another user said, you lose the active value function. Thinking about having a custom job done and remove it from the stock exhaust, but I can’t think of a time I don’t want to hear the full effect.

Congrats on the ride! Since you did straight pipe exahasts, are you getting any errors/warnings now that the electronic connection (for the stock valve control) has been removed?

I'm in the same boat regarding the stock exhaust. It's way too quiet!!! So I'm thinking of going aftermarket but I'd love to see something supporting the valve controls.

Nice did you go with the SS or Aluminized version? How’s the sound?

Stainless Steel. The sound is honestly a bit much, but I knew that going in and already have resonators. Just need to have them put in.

Nope I have had no errors everything is working just fine. Did it to get that better sound and not break the bank with a full catback until someone comes out with a valved version, but my toddler doesn’t like the sound in the back seat. So now I’m looking to see a full cat back will still give me a good sound, but not as loud as I have it now.

Yeah then I might have to stick it out with what I have in place because I think the only way I can get what I want is if I put actual functional tips and pair it with a Borla or MBRP. With how large they made the 2022 tips gonna be hard to find something that will work and not look weird. Just wish I new someone in South Florida with MBRP or Borla exhaust so I can hear it in person

Do you still have your stock exhaust, in storage? You could still go the custom route, but just cut away and keep the stock pipes with the valves. You can then have those pipes welded to your new custom exhaust. See this video for an example:

You'll see that the exhaust shop kept the portion of the stock pipes that contain the valves. You could leave those as straight piped for more noise when the valves open, and add new pipes (with mufflers) for the remaining exhaust setup.

Hopefully that all makes sense lol

I get you and that’s actually similar to what the shop did they kept factory pipe with the Valve and connected it to a Vibrant Resonator, but it didn’t work was just restricting the flow. Actually found this same YouTube rafter I did mine and How he had a similar issue and they fixed it by adding a second exit pipe, when I called the muffler shop they said that wouldn’t do anything it would still be the same sound. Might need to go to a different shop to get a second opinion or show up and show them the video because they might not have understood what I was saying

Yep thanks I saw his follow up video as well. I do think it's weird what the exhaust shop told you. How could the sound be the same? I agree, I think they misunderstood or you should go elsewhere.

I'm very curious how the stock exhaust looks when opened up. I can't find any pictures of it. I came from a V6 Camaro that also had a valved exhaust and the valved pipes were kinda straight piped as well when you looked at a cut out picture:

I looooooovvvveeeedddd the exahust on the Camaro. I wonder if the 2022 stock Stinger exhaust is configured the same way?

That’s pretty cool and it would be interesting to see what it looks like. I actually still have the original parts still, but don’t want to cut it open in case I decide to go back to it until someone comes up with a valved system.
