Just wanted to introduce myself. I'm 57 and traded in my 2016 Taurus SHO for the GT1 3 days ago. My son has a 2019 GT1 which I love and wanted to get it in red before they stopped making them. I messed up as I didn't even check the options on the car assuming what was on the 2019 GT1 would be on the 2022. I found out the things i wanted/expected weren't there, 15 speaker stereo, Memory seats, AC seats etc. I love the car so that's all that matters and I will be fine with what options are there.

looks really nice. i am also gt1. just my opinion, but i thought it was weird how they split up the packages, what things are included in gt1 vs gt2. i also wanted the things you are talking about but couldnt afford the gt2. they should have given the gt2 more horses or something else to set it apart to justify splitting up the packages that way. i didnt even know about the scorpion until a few days ago. oh well. you will love driving it.

Welcome to the hive! Great colour choice too BTW

Red is definitely the 'right' color. Too bad you didn't check this forum prior to buying, there's been a number of discussions on the trim changes for 2022. At least now you know to look her first before making any other major Stinger related decisions.

Howdy. Enjoy the driving experience, regardless of features like those (except maybe the 15 speaker HK; but I think I could live without it since the 9 speaker system does sound really good, just not as nuanced: but you'd have to hop from one sound system to the other and compare them to notice the differences; and that's not how hearing works for most people: like volume, when you turn it up you get used to that level: so it is with sound dispersion: you sit in a soundroom with nine speakers, your ears become accustomed to how the sound arrives directionally: you sit in a fifteen speaker soundroom, and you adjust to that instead, etc.).

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome, I wish i had come here before like it was suggested, but in reality I couldn't afford the GT2. I told my wife at least I would have know it didn't come with all the 2019 options and not freaked out the next day when i went looking for them.

I think i saw in another thread "MerlintheMan" post that both the 9 speaker and the 15 speaker stereo are harman kardon, is that correct? As i asked everyone at the dealer and the service manager and they said they couldnt find that answer and on the Kia website for specs it just says 9 speaker stereo. The 15 speakers have the name imprinted somewhere so you would think if the 9 speaker system was HK, then it would say it somewhere.

Either way it does sound better than my stock Sony radio in my old SHO. Also i have tinitus so I really don't need to turn it too loud.

thanks again everyone for the great welcome!

I read a while back, that the "factory stereo" (9 speakers) is a HK system. But I never confirmed that. I wish that I could remember later where I read these things. What I recall is that the components like speakers are the same; just because the HK logo is missing has to do with the speaker cover; the speaker itself is the same. The amplifier in the nine speaker stereo isn't as powerful as the fifteen speaker system: this I proved by comparison last spring: but the difference, though noticeable, was not great: the bass put out by the under-seat subs in the nine speaker system sounded really good.

I think the 9 speaker system uses many of the same speakers as the HK system, or at least their specs on the backs are the same and they visually look the same. The stock system puts out a good amount of bass (depending on tastes in music), it's in the upper mids and treble it falls a bit short. Plenty of upgrade paths/options to swap speakers to improve things.

Nice..great colour too. Enjoy and welcome to the forum. Same engine and great driving experience no matter what options you missed out on.

Congrats! I too just purchased a Red GT1 about 2 weeks ago. I would liked to have had the 15 speaker system on the GT2, but couldn't justify the added expense. That's about the only option I would have opted for from the GT2 and the cost difference was 'UGE. I've been satisfied so far with the stock system. As another mentioned, the bass is plenty and you'll be happy with the GT1.
