Trying to figure out the best approach to keeping the Key fob locked inside the car while I go surfing. I can’t tuck it into my wetsuit pocket, as I’m sure it’s not waterproof. And while many people use magnetic key hiders, I’m not sure this works on the Stinger. I’m pretty sure it will still be too close to the car and want to unlock it. My only workaround is to maybe take out the battery, then use the physical valet “pullout” key to lock the car. Then put the battery back in when I’m ready to start the car again.

You may even be able to use a zip lock sandwich bag. Try at home first with tissue inside as it’s submerged in a bowl of water. That way you’ll know if the seal is 100% waterproof.

Wrapping the key in tinfoil usually works to shield it. I've done it numerous times for Volvos (drop borrowed car off, lock, wrap in foil, then close the doors or trunk, person with spare key comes to pick it up).

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
Get a faraday bag, put the key inside, and, when nobody is looking, put the faraday bag inside one of your rims.

A humble Ziploc plastic bag would work to waterproof the fob at next to zero cost, and let you keep it secure with you in your wetsuit pocket. I'd never be comfortable hiding my key somewhere for later retrieval - even if I thought nobody was watching.

Exactly what I was thinking. Former military? I am and that's how I think all the time. Some will say I'm paranoid, I say it might be common sense.
