3.3TT Need help with 18 inch wheels

Those look ideal. 7.5 to 8 wide is ideal for 225 tires. ET 39 is only 5mm more offset than factory, which is more than countered by the rim being half an inch narrower. Those rims will clear easily in front and of course the rear is even more clearance.

Just to give you a comparison in front, I run an offset of 40 at 8.5 wide, so, less clearance than the wheel you are looking at.

Thank you man! Its so stupidly difficult to buy tims here where i live. What do you think will these look wonky on the gt in terms of wheel arch fill or will the wheels look like they are to sunk in? I don't know how to explain better, I just don't want to order rims and then have the car look weird

Depends on what "wonky" is to you. People who demand the flush look think that any inset looks bad. I doubt that to the naked eye your quarter of an inch narrower wheel and 2.5mm further in will be visible. As for filling the wheel arch, again, some people think that the stock look of the Stinger is too "gappy" and lower theirs. I find the gap acceptable. And a 225/45/18 is going to look stock for a squared Stinger. It's what I have on my Premium with Bridgestone tires and OEM wheels.

These are 18x7.5 ET39 OEM wheels I kept from my '09 Genesis sedan... in 1 of 318 curves on The Tail of the Dragon. I believe in "what works good looks good", not the other way around. We have 7 sets of 18" wheels between our two Stingers and G70. I could've taken any of them on our Summer vacation to the Smoky Mountains. The more performance-oriented ones would no doubt have worked even better in the slice and dice. Still, I decided on this set because, shod with 235/45R18 all seasons, they are supremely comfortable on the 1000+ mile drives to and from. Everything has a purpose of what it does best. It's up to you to decide whether that aligns with your expectations for your particular use case.
Stinger ToTD 1.webp

That said, this 18x7.5 ET39 you have the link for... won't work on the Stinger. Wheel size and offset are fine, but the wheel hub diameter of 66.1mm won't fit Stinger's 67.1mm wheel hub.

Ok that's good to know thanks. What about these ones? Will the ET40 be too much?

I didn't even think of the center hole/hub size. Can the hole be machined out one puny millimeter, or would that be cost prohibitive?

ET40 should be fine. I doubt you could tell the difference between that and ET39, either in terms of handling or looks. You can always get 3 or 5mm spacer to make the front offset closer to the stock ET34. Just make sure to get hubcentric spacers with a lip.

You will, of course, need to get hubcentric rings or spacers to go from 74.1 to 67.1mm.

I don't see why not, if you can find a machine shop that can do that inexpensively. IMO, it would better to find wheels that don't need machining, as changing center bore dia. adds no value to the wheels if you ever want to sell them.

That said, there was a G70 owner that bought a set of Hyundai Genesis Coupe wheels with 66.7mm center bore and was able to squeeze them onto the 67.1mm hub. That's 0.4mm. a full 1.0mm might not sound like much, but I doubt the same can be done with 66.1mm.

I believe the outer edge would sit 1/2" inward relative to stock. The 1/2" narrower wheel would mean removing 1/4" inside & out at the same offset, and then adding 6mm (1/4") to the offset would shift the wheel inward that much. IE the inside face would be at about its stock location, and the outer edge would move 1/4" inward.

I'd probably want to see how this looked before puling the trigger, because I think for some people that would be a bit too tucked. Or just be prepared to buy some 20mm spacers to bring them back closer to flush.
