so I did a search of the vin # it shows the car was trying to be sold all over ct.....?? what gives, could this be a lemon or flood vehicle....car fax shows one owner but the search engine (google) shows 4 different dealers, wtf?

What kind of help are you asking for? I'd just make sure nothing looks/sounds amiss when I check the car out. I always took every used car I was looking at to a trusted mechanic; knew him and his sons in the business for literally decades. If they gave the thumbs up, I bought. Try something like that and go with your gut. If the car looks and sounds good, it's too new to have aging/wearing/abuse issues. Anything egregious would be impossible to hide from a thorough inspection by a pro.

Possibly dealer transfers. A dealer might ship the car to another dealer on request. I know that when I bought my Stinger, I was originally looking at a white one and the dealer looked at inventory across other dealers seeing if there was one that met my wants because they didn't have one on their lot. I wonder if the VIN is registered every time the car it is associated with a new dealer?

My car came from a different dealer than the one I bought from. My sales rep went and picked it up while I waited in the showroom! :) Nothing nefarious about that.

yeah, but 3 other dealers?! I tthought these were ''hot'' cars always in demand.......

I bought a 2010 VW CC brand new off the lot and found out after a month that it was side-swiped in another dealers parking lot by one of their customers which did some serious damage to the front end. The dealer had the car fixed at their autobody shop and when fixed, shipped the car to another one of their dealers (the dealer I bought it from). They never told me it had damage and sold me the car knowing that. When I found out, I was crazy upset and threatened legal action. They took the car back and provided me with another brand new car. Because they ran the car through their own autobody shop, there was no record of damage associated with the VIN. YOU NEVER KNOW!

YOU NEVER KNOW!
Which is why you get a third party to go over the car, if you suspect something might be amiss. You want to be sure.

Heres the thing...why would someone think something is amiss when looking at a brand new car on the lot? In my case, the car I bought only had 8 km on it. It wasn’t until I noticed polish residue under the hood that I started to question something was up. It’s not at all uncommon for car manufacturers to do paint work on brand new cars. When car come off the boat, many of them are banged up from shipping and go directly to get repaired or painted etc before heading to the dealerships.
