I bought a GT1 Stinger late December. Originally, when I arrived, at the dealership, the remote start worked. However during signing the paperwork it stopped working. The salesman told me that the issue was probably a misconnected wire. It was around late 6pm so the service area was closed. He said, after I completed my paper-work, I could take it down to a local Kia dealership closer to my home location and they will fix it. However, after 2 months and 3 dealerships there is no fix. Effectively, I purchased a car without a remote start. KIA has a ticket open from all 3 dealerships, including my original dealership where the purchase was made. However, they have informed each dealership, they don't have a fix. My last local dealership advised me to return to the original dealership, and request compensation for the issue. I didn't know how or what terms might apply here, or the best way to navigate my next steps. This was my first car purchase. I wanted to see if anyone has any experience regarding this or a similar issue with dealerships.

I would call the original dealership and see what they have to say. Certainly "no fix" from Kia corp isn't acceptable either, so based on your State's particular lemon laws you may be entitled to compensation through that avenue as well.

Always be polite and firm. Give the dealer and Kia every reasonable chance, then pursue other legal means.

Thank you for the advice. Spoke to the dealer and they are speaking to the Owner/Service Manager today to figure out how they'll resolve this. Will keep you guys updated. Also the vehicle was purchased from Tennessee, but I live in GA, so I'll keep on looking into their lemon laws but hope I don't have to get to that option.

Update: So basically the dealership said they spoke to the Service Manager and he checked out the Tech Line. After checking out the Tech Line. He called KIA. KIA mentioned they know of the issue and are working on a fix. They don't have an eta on a fix, however. They said they'll continue to monitor the situation. I just said, okay, and expressed my disappointment in the issue and basically not having a resolution. However, thinking more about it. I feel as if I was sold a car without a key feature, and I'm not trusting that KIA will resolve this quickly as it isn't a widespread problem. I'm considering giving the dealership 3 months (basically end of this month) to resolve the issue, or refund/replace the car. If not, I'll pursue the Tennessee Lemon Law. In Tennessee, I only have a year to appeal, so I want to get the motion moving quickly so I don't have any hiccups.

That stinks.

Was going to suggest having them pay the cost for an aftermarket system.
However, since you have a 2022, the factory system is better than any aftermarket system (at least if it worked).

It sounds like both you and the original dealer are trying to be reasonable, given that Kia corp are the ones at this point who really need to provide the resolution. Just make sure to mention the lemon law action you'll be taking in your last conversation with the dealer. That may align them into a different mode of thinking. At that point in the process you have nothing to lose mentioning it.

While this won't help the OP, future buyers beware. If there's anything wrong with the car presale, insist, demand it is fixed before you sign, otherwise reject the car. Not doing so may lead to a huge headache no one should have to deal with with a new car.

Yeah I am trying, but it's getting a bit ridiculous. I feel like 3 months is enough time to get a fix. I try to best to be reasonable but I feel like after 3 months it's overkill. Also, to pay the full price of a car and not have every feature that is paid for with that car, just feels dirty to me. It wasn't their fault because it worked when I arrived, just not when it was time for me to go. However, I should've left it there until it was resolved. I extremely don't want to get holding the bag on a car that doesn't have this key feature. Absolutely destroys the resale value if I ever wanted to do that, and it is a major inconvenience alone. I really hope they agree to just replace it, when we get to that point.

I considered this, but if I put an aftermarket system in my car I wont have any of the UVO app features. Are there any systems that are similar?
None that I know of that can tie into CAN-Bus.
The only OEM option for my car (a 2021) is a standard basic "dumb" system that is a dealer installed addon. I instead got an AccessoRides system with 4G module/app.
