Called them about a post they had for a RWD MY18 GT marked down from $39,900ish to $35,000. KMF cash, loyalty/conquest, and military were listed as “conditional discounts”. Figured I may be able to scoop the car up for <$31k so I gave them a call.

When I told them I’d probably be financing and not leasing I was quoted a price of ~$37,500. I asked about the $35k quote I received after emailing them and was told that that price included the lease cash but wasn’t available since I’d be financing.

I looked up the lease cash offered for the MY18 RWD base GTs and found that Kia is offering $5,600 on them. I can’t say for certain, but it seems to me that they are trying to advertise a lease price as a sale price and holding back $700 from the Kia incentive. Rubbed me the complete wrong way and will not be pursuing any Stingers they have in the future.

When I bought my GT2, the lease rebate and finance rebates were identical. Stay away from this dealer. You got a "bait and switch" deal. Double-check with another dealer to see if these guys are honest about the rebate difference.

I am disgusted with the scams some of these dealers are using to lure people into their stores. One Honda dealer tried to charge my son-in-law $120 for "nitrogen-filled tires" -- on an Odyssey VAN! My local Kia dealer (from which I did NOT purchase my GT2) has added $3,750 to the MSRP on every car on the lot (not just Stingers) as "Regional Dealer Adjustment." Total B.S. so they can make a buyer feel good by taking it off and getting full MSRP, I guess.

Spec your car out, tell them you want a factory (pipeline) order with no options (put your own damn options on the car and save $$), get a net price in writing and have them order the car. That way they can't sneak in big profit add-ons and play games with monthly payments.

Funny.. most of the dealers will advertise (with no disclaimers) a low price.. then whatever route you say you choose (lease vs finance), they will say that price is for the other. I found it prudent to focus solely on the price of the car BEFORE incentives and also on the value of the trade. Once they get it to an appropriate level you can work choose the best option for your payment. Aiming for a payment without controlling the other factors is just what the dealers want.
I was fortunate to be able to pit two dealers against another and squeeze out an additional money for the trade/discount off MSRP.

The salesman there straight up told me “we put that price because we have to be aggressive online to get people interested.” Dealerships using manifacturer discounts in their advertised price is starting to get annoying. The majority of people going in won’t know the difference between the dealer discounts and the manufacturer discounts so they get to feel like they made a great deal when they get “$2500 off!!” When I’m reality that deal doesn’t cost the dealership a dime. Makes it very hard on those of us that have done the research and knows what actual deals are being made out there.

I found it prudent to focus solely on the price of the car BEFORE incentives and also on the value of the trade.

Ive been trying to do the same, it certainly gets tiring repeating “this is the price I want to have paid for this car when I walk through the door” just to have them ask “how does this monthly payment look to you?” every time they come back from talking to their boss.

I went in thinking the advertised price didn’t include any incentives since the additional conditional incentives were shown right under that price, never even thought they’d advertise a portion of the lease deal as the dealer discount

I've posted this before, but it's buried way back somewhere. Here's what I did.
1) Spec the car out online - factory trim level and options. Get the MSRP from Kia web site.
2) Print out a sheet of paper with specs of the car, and your contact information (including trade-in if you have one)
3) Tell sales manager (NOT salesperson who has no ability to deal) he can work up a bottom line price for the car and e-mail you the price. Don't wait around for it. Also tell him you are shopping the car at several other dealers and he has one chance on a "bid." No B.S. playing "let's make a deal". Demand the car be ordered from the existing Kia stock in the pipeline, not off his lot. If they do quote a car off the lot, make sure they specify which car and the mileage. A car with 500 miles on it is NOT a new car and deserves a discount.
4) Only after choosing the deal do you go in and talk about payments and financing. If there is a factory rebate available (I don't know the status of that right now) then they should be including that in the bid. Mention that to them.

Your in Indy, go see Jason and crew down at @KiaofMuncie. Several members of this forum, including me, bought our Stingers there and had an amazing experience dealing with them. Probably the best dealership experience my wife and I have ever had.

I’m in Cincy, so not too far away. I’ve been keeping an eye on their inventory, looks like they are out of 2018s GTs and GT1s which is mostly what I’m after at the moment. Mostly contacted this seller because it appeared to be a good deal. I’m sure everyone here is aware that Kia of Muncie is one of the best in the area, this just helps to cement that fact!

Kyle......let me give you the experience you deserve. We get quite a few unhappy customers from other stores. I will do everything i can to change the mindset you have been presented. Let me know what we can do for you. We'd love to have you as a KIA of Muncie customer .

Hey Jason,

How is the MSRP on the below car you have listed $58,771? Even if every option box ticked on this exact same car from Kia's website it tops out at $55,465.

What are the aftermarket wheels and tires? There's nothing referencing that in the description and all the pictures show stock wheels.

Add me to the growing list of happy Kia of Muncie customers and unhappy Napleton Kia of Carmel customers. I test drove a couple Stingers at Napleton, but they refused to cut me a deal. So I hit the interwebs (Costco pricing, TrueCar, KBB) and got in contact with several dealers: Muncie, Dayton, Jeff Wyler (Cincinnati), Kings (Cincinnati), Superior (Cincinnati), Kia Store (Louisville), Bob Rohrman (Lafayette). Best deal was from Muncie. Did lease buyout for the extra incentive. Did all the paperwork through Muncie to make it easy.
