Hello All!

New immigrant here to Canada from the Middle East, and soon to be proud new owner of a wonderful red GT Limited (hopefully finish up all the necessary paperwork and bank stuff in the next couple of weeks). Previous babies across the 3 countries I've lived and worked in include a '06 Ford Ka, '01 Disco II, '05 BMW X5 (E53), '15 Kia Koup.

My philosophy on cars is that they have to be practical and fun to drive machines that have their own personality and so become a part of the family. Yes, they all have names! :). As much as I loved the Disco and X5, I've learnt enough expensive and head-ache based lessons to not go down that rabbit hole again. And that ofcourse brings me to the Stinger, and boy have I been waiting for a car at this price point for ages! If they only made it lighter and a true 2-door coupe....but hey, I save on insurance with the 2 extra doors! :p

So my plans for my baby revolve around making is a bit tighter to drive and much more fuel efficient as I won't be street-racing or taking it out to the track. I'm too old for that and have no one to impress but my backside and wallet. I'm absolutely brand new to modding/tuning cars and so only plan on doing anything to keep it as pragmatic as possible.

So, here's what I plan on doing, and would love your thoughts:
  1. ADD W1 3.3 Oil Catch Can
  2. K&N drop-in air filters (sadly current WAI & supposed CAIs aren't effective enough as of yet to warrant their prices)
  3. Eibach sways and lowering springs
  4. Velossa Tech Big Mouth Air Ram
  5. Rims and tyres (I need help with these, any ideas?)
  6. Noise redustion, saw someone Dynamat the heck out of their boot (trunk for my American friends)
I've been lurking around the forums when I can and have learnt a ton (and also been amused) by a lot of the folks and discussions on here. I hope to add to that to the best of my capacity as well. Being new to the country and living out of a condo limits my ability for DYI mods, especially since I wont be picking up a decent auto tool-kit till I have the space and know-how.

If anyone in the GTA has reputable Stinger-experienced auto-shops they could recommend for the installation of the above components, I'd greatly appreciate it. The dealer I'm buying the car from doesn't feel comfortable doing it.

Thanks for reading, hopefully I'll be able to meet some of the other Stinger owners in the area. So far I've only seen 1 Black one in Brampton, 1 White in North York and a red on blitzing past us all on the 410. Glad to be one of this small pack!:)

Welcome to the forum! Great choice on the Stinger! Can't help with the installs but I'll be giving my had a try at the rear sway bar when it comes in. Lots of folks her in Canada so hopefully when someone isn't out driving theirs, they can respond and help.
