• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

Hi all first time posting here!

I’ve had my Honda Accord for 8 years my first car, finally am getting rid of it and ordered the new stinger gt in black! excited but hope it arrives quickly.
Now I recall at the dealer the awesome tail lights that spanned across the middle lit up. Is this something (which like the daytime running lights in front) stay on all the time? Or is it only at night / when the car is parked/brake?

Welcome! Congrats on getting a Stinger.

The lights work like normal taillights. When headlights are off, so are the taillights. When the headlights are on, the taillights are dimly lit up. When you press the break (anytime) it lights up bright. At least that's the way it seems to work on my car.

Thanks for your reply.
Dang thats a slight bummer, aesthetically they were one of my fav parts about the stinger. I was hoping it would stay lit similar to the newer Audi a3’s. (Unless of course I just keep my headlights on at all times haha)

Yes. A few people have already got theirs and posted about them on the forum.

Edit: example

Howdy and welcome. If you put your lights to "Auto" the DRLs engage. Is that middle strip in the back a DRL? I'm asking you or anybody else.

I think that is just the tail light. I think most cars have DRLs at the front not the rear. I have been wrong before though.

I suspect that you're right. I was going off memory, that my headlights were off but the DRLs on, and so were the taillights. To check just now, I went back to some pics that @Gordo and I took in fall 2018; in the first pics my headlights are on and his are not; but the DRLs are on, on both cars. Then we moved to the rear and took pics, and both sets of taillights are lit up. The next set of pics is from the front again, and his headlights are now on: so, I think that when we moved to shoot from the rear, he saw my taillights lit up and turned his headlights on so that his taillights would show too.
