Since I am passing my 2016 Ecoboost Premium to my 16-year-old son, I needed to replace the beloved pony car I've driven for the past six years. I did a fair amount of research and kept coming back to the Stinger. The first one I'd ever seen passed me on the highway a couple years ago. I caught up with it to see what it was - a beautiful Ascot Green Stinger. Now searching online, I found a green 2023 Stinger GT-Line that checked all the boxes at a dealership almost 3 hours away. My hubby was working Saturday before last, and a snow storm was predicted for the following week. I went and drove it by myself, and the rest is history. The dealership offered to deliver it, but the ice and snow came, around 9 inches of it. I live in Mississippi, so we are not prepared for that kind of weather. My Stinger was delivered yesterday, ten days after that test drive. The rest of the ice left today, so I'm looking forward to getting to know my new daily driver (45 minutes one way). I still love my Mustang, so it will be a process. And no, my Mustang isn't the fastest and neither is the GT-Line, but I'm a middle-aged college instructor, so I'm not trying to get there the fastest. I just want to have fun doing it. :)

Welcome aboard! And thank you for signing up. I'm glad you found us. Congratulations on your new Stinger! :) I think you'll find the Stinger to be a great replacement for the Mustang. Along with the fun to drive factor, you've got more creature comforts and luxuries - and a car you don't see on every drive. It certainly is a head turner. :)

Welcome to the hive!

Thank you! You are right, I see Mustangs everywhere. Stingers, not so much. Glad to be here!

Lucky son of yours. 16yo with a beautiful red Mustang has got to be the envy of his high school parking lot crowd.

We do the same as well. I bought our '19 Stinger 3yrs ago fully intending on passing it to our second son. I got to drive it for 2+yrs before handing it over to him. I like that it's a car with known history, well taken care of, already modded to handle well, and - most importantly - even though it is still a very nice ride, the car is already amortized over enough years that insurance is not as crazy expensive as a brand new expensive car.

My current GT-Line is earmarked for my daughter. The cycle continues. :)

Secksy!

Welcome! Enjoy your new Stinger. I live in Alabama and we got some of that same snow/ice system. Shut us down for a solid week.

Hey @ChryssGryss,

Welcome to the forum and congratulations on your Stinger!

Did you modify the mustang at all?

Let me know if there is anything I can help with.

That is absolutely awesome. Yes, my son is stoked about his Mustang. We provided our other two sons with less expensive used cars, so he’s going to pay us a little bit to make it fair. Hopefully that will make him appreciate it even more as he sinks his hard earned dollars into it. He’s already planning some mods. Now I just have to get used to this lovely Stinger.

I actually bought my Stinger at a dealership in Gadsden, AL. At first, they kept trying to deliver it early last week, and I kept telling them, “We are struggling over here!” Then it finally hit them. ❄️

Congrats, now the most important thing about buying an Ascot Green Stinger is to take a bunch of pictures and go post them in that silly "orange is the best color" thread

I'm switching to a stinger from a ford as well and I'm middle aged also lmao. I have a '10 SHO but it's getting a bit long in the tooth with 195k mi on it. It still hauls ass and I love it but it was time to find a fresh steed for my right foot to abuse lol. So now the SHO is my daily "beater" and the stinger is getting a bunch of go fast goodies.

Nice ride sir! If your anything like me I bet your going to love it. Everytime I drive my stinger I end up grinning like a idiot.. a lot.

The ford is definitely more comfy like a REALLY fast couch but the stinger gives the real sports car feel and has slightly nicer looks IMHO.

The comfort of the seat is one of the things I miss the most about my Mustang! But I definitely appreciate the way the Stinger scoots down the road without batting an eye.

Congrats! I got a 2023 GT-Line last December. Popped up for sale with only 5k miles on it plus it’s the Apex Edition. Love it. For the base engine it moves! Not like my C7 Corvette, but good enough. Fun car and practical. My only beef is not crazy about the stock 18”s. This car just looks better with 19”s. I ended bagging a set of GT2 tires and wheels with only 67 miles on them. Granted they are just the Kia wheels, but look good and the price was right. The before and after
