I feel bad for this guy. Heres a short story

Hes a young guy, im 28 hes younger not sure age, but he and his wife got a stigner. They still have friends in the young car scene full of beaters and hopes and dreams.
They tell me that they have recived nothing but bad talk about their car and the price.

Ive tryed getting them onto the forum and explaining that the kids car scene is full of 5k dollar cars and lofty expectations and that they can come here for a friendly car enviroment.

Heres the thing making this post worthy.

How often and from what demographic do you, a stinger owner, recive bad talk from the public poll inclosed
Merry xmas all!

I've never had anyone criticize my "Kia". The closest thing to it was a friend, an SCCA champ (retired), say, "And, it's a Kia ..." He also says that it's a really sharp looking car.

I like your circle of friends

Same with me. Hell, I can’t go a day without someone offering a positive comment or envious look.Yesterday, I was making a turn around gas pumps and one guy popped his head around a pump waiting for me to get out of the car before saying “ I love your car, it’s so different”

No one has yet to truly criticize my Kia, the only person that has reacted surprisingly was my good friend who said he didn’t care to test drive cause ‘it’s a Kia’. Then 3 weeks later proceeded to take it for a rip and got out of the car looking sheepish. He owns an 03 GTI. He wanted me to get a Golf R. He had nothing to say following that.
Everything else has been really positive, even the ‘kids car scene’ here has given nothing but praise. Every subie here seems to drool over the thing. I come out of stores and walk to the back parking lot to 9 times out of 10, finding a subie parked next to me.

My car scene circa 2018 near portland OR was off. At a car meet we used to have every sunday night, when the car was brand new mind you, i was praised by the crowd i didnt like much (bmw and merc guys) saying it was the nicest car at this meet hands down. Vs the drift scene i love and come from looking past while she sat parked in line. I received my funniest criticism there.... "are you sure it needs brakes that big" =/ that shits hilarious

I hope your friends decide to join the forum and find some true car enthusiast friends that can appreciate these works of art. There may be Facebook groups for other owners in their area, I’m apart of some here, you could offer that to them as well

There is a word for those "critiques"..........H-A-T-E-R-S!!!!!!

Had a guy where i work tell someone the day after i got mine....."well, it's a Kia and it is also 2 cylinders short"....referring to my 2.0. The guy is a car lover but daily drives a 2003 Chevy impala SS (crap). My response was...." hey, if that Kia were to drop 2 more cylinders, it would still make that chevy look like dog crap......lol

No further comments from that guy......he had nothing.

I think you are missing a "no criticism" option :)

The worst I've gotten is "this isn't a family car even if it has 4 doors, its a sports car with a car seat in the back" :)

Would have been no criticism until a cars and coffee recently where a person who just bought a m3 immediately came over to tell us how his me was superior on every way and reliable ... I agree as a sports sedan the m3 is a better vehicle but it doesn't compare to the stinger. The 440gc is the competition.. he didn't even know the difference between his m3 vs a m340i... He thought the m340i was better than his m3.. so .. yea .. couldn't take a word of his criticism seriously ..

I have owned my Stinger for 18 months and have never had a negative comment. Like others, gas stations bring tons of stares and questions? What is it...Is that really a Kia....they are making amazing cars now...beautiful car. In addition, I daily have the instance where I pass a car in the left lane, and then after I move back to the right lane the same car moves to left lane and stays just behind me for miles and then passes. A few moments later I pass the same car. It is amazing to me that after several years on the market people still don’t know about the Stinger. I love seeing the rare occasion of another Stinger on the road, and it reminds me what a beautiful car I am driving

I've received positive feedback from every one of my friends who has seen it. Plus I've had at least a dozen total strangers who've given me compliments about it - in shopping centre carparks, tradespeople doing work at my house, the postman (actually postwoman) and delivery drivers. That's not counting the people who have turned to look at it when they walked past it.

That said, if anyone criticised the car or my purchase I wouldn't care anyway. Frankly, I think people who pay more for a 'luxury' car brand and get less features, less performance, ordinary leather instead of nappa leather and a shorter warranty compared to the Stinger are throwing their money away.
