Got at the track around 5:40pm. June 5th 2020
I knew I was in trouble when the woman behind the counter asked me the model of my car for the log. She said “what is that?”
If you let them know it’s your first time ever on a track they are very helpful and forthcoming with any question you might have.
It’s intimidating at first but you have to remember it’s not a race and you have to drive within your comfort and your cars capabilities….
I drove it like a maniac and loved it! Launch control from the start, oversteer, understeer, breaking on the turns….!
Unless you start spinning out and getting off the track you are fine.
Never took a turn that the car couldn’t handle at speed. Rotated very well on the turns and floored it on the exits. An LSD would have made it so much more fun bat the AWD pulls your out of the corners with some much confidence you can’t mess it up!
I drove in sport mode and did not manually shifted because I was a chicken and was mostly focusing on taking the correct lines around the turns.
You have to monitor your tire pressure and had to let air out a couple of times.
And just like that it was over!
After going on the track 3 times with 3 laps each I made the mistake of parking the car without cooling the breaks and I was done. It took about 50 minutes for the breaks to cool down and it was already 8:40PM.
This is what I did to prep the car for the track:
Changed oil and checked fluid levels, tighten the wheels, check their pressure. Got gas!
This is what I brought to the track:
A passenger to take videos! Paper towels for checking oil. Some extra oil. Air compressor. Water.
Download and install TrackAddict. You will have to pay for it if you need to keep more than 3 recordings.
My best time that it recorded was 1:32.409
My best sectors times were 1) 18.329, 2)24.284, 3) 11.341, 4) 17.615, 5) 19.309 but not on the same LAP....
We don’t need to rent the TRACK. If we line up 15 Stingers at the entry the track is ours!
Loved it and can’t wait for the next time!
