Hello everyone,

since I got my stinger premium I feel like I have to turn the sound level up more and more.
When I got it 3 months ago below 10 it was perfect and now it's above 15 otherwise I can't hear anything.
has anyone ever had this impression

It seems like very time there's a firmware update something futzes with the volume.

However, there are multiple facets to this:
  1. The source audio can vary: FM, AM, XM, Bluetooth MP3, and Android Auto *all* need a different volume setting to be perceptually the same loudness. I haven't every tested this with a sound meter.
  2. Mp3's can be recorded with differing gain settings--even professionally. One song might be really quiet while another might be loud. There are tools that can fix this for the media you own but if the source is somewhere else (i.e. radio), you're S.O.L
  3. Speed controlled volume may affect things.

it's a 2018 premium and since i have it, i never uptaded the firmware.

I'm always with apple car play and spotify
the speed volume controll is always disabled

this is an interesting topic because off and on over the years I've wondered if the volume level is relative to where the starting volume setting is. I mean that if I start at 10, it often seems as loud if I've been listening to volume 4-6 when I start the car and the stereo kicks in. I know that my USB listening is set louder than FM radio to get the same relative volume. but I've updated my media/navigation several times, the last time only a couple of months ago.

That I don't know. It would be helpful to know what number on the volume control is effectively 0 gain.
