I’m looking for some guidance please….. My tuner is recommending a Motec Plug and Play system for my Stinger. I currently have full JTexhaust, WMI, JT FMIC and CAI, JB4 and I’ve had my current turbos hi flowed. What is the justification to go the full MOTEC system
over say the Lap 3 ECU tune? Obviously a huge difference in the price point and I’m just trying to see which is best bang for buck.

Thanks in advance .

There is none for factory turbos. With a larger custom turbo kit might be some benefits although it's still hard to justify the cost IMHO.

Cheers. Thanks for the response Terry.

Your tuner will have complete control over the ECU with the Motec, making their life much easier. And they get to charge you a lot more to spend a lot more time fiddling with making their own maps.
So if you want to go really, really deep into the car and wring out every last ounce on your own, then an aftermarket ECU makes that much easier. Otherwise you're dependent on one of the guys that have cracked the stock ECU and their specific tuning goals and skills. Or, like Tery said, a turbo replacement might be more than a stock ECU can easily be modified to handle. Or if you replace cams or want to change the valve timing logic or something more interesting like that.

Thanks oddball, I appreciate the feedback. I’ve decided to go the Motec route.
