Has anyone ever experienced a misfire caused by a blocked GPF filter or know if the two are likely to be related?

My GPF light came on yesterday (after a long drive in eco mode, the few times I've had the light come on it's been after a long drive at low revs) so I went to take it for a drive to clear it but soon as I put it in sport and got the revs up the engine was running very roughly, especially at low revs, MPG dropped badly and the CEL illuminated.

I checked for fault codes and got P0304 which points to a misfire on cylinder 4. Cleared the code and things went back to normal and after a short motorway drive the GPF light disappeared and things seem to be normal.

I'm away from home at the moment and reliant on the car being reliable for the next week so haven't dared push things to try and replicate the misfire by getting the revs up.

Im pretty sure we dont have a GPF on our cars unless you mean the catalytic converter?

Sounds like a fuel filter change may be in order?

I should have mentioned I'm in the UK, I assumed the GPF filter was standard across the board but maybe it's just another useless EU emissions regulation thing.
Below is the dreaded warning light which let's you know its in need of a blast to get it cleared...
