My stinger has been in the barn since early November. I have several mouse traps set. Learned the hard way after a nest was built in the side pipe of my hot rod one time and then a hole chewed through the rear seat of the mustang. Had not trapped a mouse in over a month. For some reason I have trapped 7 mice over the past 3 days. just a reminder if you store your stinger for the winter, check your traps

Don't.

Live.

Anywhere.

That has a barn.

Don't take any chances. My 2016 Mini Cooper was totaled by rodents two years ago. They chewed through the main wiring harness where it goes through the firewall. It would have been over $9,000 to replace it. This happened on a paved driveway in front of my house in a car that was used daily.

When looking under the hood and seeing some seeds at the bottom of the engine, I took the under panels off to give little critters less opportunity to nest....besides it gives the technician full access to the underside when spraying anti-corrosion material.

I know nothing about all this "barn mice" business. BUT...aren't mice attracted to cheese? Any other barns close by? Set a trail of cheese to their bar and then leave a big block of it at the end! Then... they'll think they've hit the motherload and never leave!!

Something to keep in mind is that some vehicles have soy based electrical wire coating that seem to be appetizing to rodents. My mom has a prior gen Sonata and had issues with something chewing on wires. It's not specifically Kia/Hyundai, but again something to keep in mind if you're going to park your car long term.

Had a barn cat. He would watch the mice eat out of his food dish.
Quit feeding him. Did not work, he died.

Went snowboarding today. Came home and checked traps. 2 more mice today.

Yes, soy based plastic like material exists. I retired 3 years ago. Last big job I did as an engineer was laying out a large excavation. The contract forbid plastic. Used a soy based marker ribbon. The deer ate all of it. Bright orange potatoe chips blowing in the wind is what they must have seen
