Hey everyone. I was curious if any of you have the Mbrp exhaust paired with the ark downpipes. No resonators. No tips. Just the exhaust and downpipes. How’s the drone and rasp if there is any?

Is your stinger a 18-21 of 22+ model? The 22+ have valves so drone and rasp will be less with valves closed. I have a 23 with ark dp. Even with tips valve open there will be rasp and drone but everyone has different tolerance. In beginning the drone and booming/tinning sound was pretty brutal not gonna lie but after some weeks it became less. You definitely want to use tips to reduce in cabin noise, they make a pretty noticable difference. This combo is really loud in person. Videos do not do justice to how loud it is, but it is a very pleasant deep raw and loud tone kinda similar to a GTR. If you are tuned it will slightly change the exhaust tone when you get into boost. Gets really loud and screams.

I did try the mbrp resonators and really didn't like them. Made it far too quiet and took away some unique frequencies/tones it had without resonators. I am going to get a custom 2.5 inch secondaries merged into 3 inch mid pipe to the mbrp pro active mufflers done soon to give it more of a GTR tone and less rasp/drone. This fabricator i know makes his own unique GTR sounding exhaust for stingers but its built in house.

If you want to get an idea of rasp and drone I have some videos I can share:

Cold start with some revs:

Pull with jb4:

Driving with jb4:

Some driving before jb4:

Hope that helps! Of course a 18-21 will be different since you do not have valves but I would think that won't be as loud as my setup since it goes thru the bigger mufflers entirely. The new mbrp pro active has a seperate straight pipe valve that I really like as the new design. My favorite exhaust on stinger by far. I had the non actice mbrp before and it just was not loud enough with the stock secondaries to me. Oh as far as tips, on the 22+ stingers you want a 5 inch 130mm outlet oval tip with 2.5 inch inlet 63mm.

I took some pictures showing difference between 4.5 inch that will likely fit a 18-21 better vs 5 inch ones here:

Thanks for the feedback! I’ve read about the videos not doing it justice. I have a 2020. So what you’re saying is there will be some rasp? In your opinion how bad is it? And does it sound bad? And I plan on getting tips soon so hopefully they get here before the dp ship out. I’m not to worried about the drone because it doesn’t really bother me. I have my music loud and the windows down most the time anyway

Ah gotcha. So no valves then. The drone and rasp will initially be worse but it will lessen over time. It's not that bad really.

I had the borla non valved with ark dp and that initially was pretty strong on the drone and rasp. But you are like me and play music always so i wouldn't worry about it much.

If I were in your shoes I would put the mbrp catback with tips on first and break in the exhaust for a while and see how you like it. Then you can put the ark dp on. You get used to pretty much any exhaust over time anyway. I did have the non valved mbrp with stock secondaries and that felt way too quiet to me but I never had it with ark dp. I think it will sound really good and with tips will be even better. I am sure you'll like it! :)

Ok nice! I’ve had the Mbrp on for about 2 months and I love it. But I’d like it to be louder. What tips do you recommend? I don’t want to spend $1000 for the Mbrp ones lol

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
Yeah i wouldn't want to spend that much either.

I got these:

For yours I would do 63mm inlet and 105mm outlet. That's pretty much what most use on a 18-21 stinger once you take out the fake exhaust rings. These tips are pretty great. Not sure if you can see the ebay link its showing up as some "pardon our interruption" link, but i can send you via DM anyway. You can also get them in matt carbon which look pretty slick as well.

Matt carbon version:
