I have tried to see if there was any posts on this but I could not find any as of yet. I just had the MBRP Pro exhaust installed last week. This was not a new exhaust I bought it off another Stinger GT owner here. I love the sound on all levels but it seems there is less boost or power on the low end side when cruising around 2500rpm. I have to use more throttle (around half throttle) to get it moving. I'm usually in either smart or comfort mode on the streets and eco on the hiways if that makes a difference. Some have said you lose some low end torque with a wider exhaust pipe and less back-pressure. The only other mods I have are KnN drop in filters. Feel free to let me know if you have had the same issue.

Thanks,

Have you tried it in sport mode?

I know for me comfort mode feels more sluggish than sport - maybe that's due to different throttle pedal calibration.

yes I have tried it in sport mode and its the crazy beast it usually is lol. Sport and custom are working fine. It must be just the usual sluggishness in smart and comfort. It just seems more sluggish now then before when I had the stock exhaust on if that makes any sense. Plus I have not had a full tank of gas in a while since its so expensive here.

This is pretty common, a lot of bolt on mods sacrifice a bit of low end power for gains higher in the band. My suggestion would be that you pickup a BMS pedal tuner.

I might now someone who is selling a windbooster pedal tuner

are the pedal tuners bad on the engine in the long run?

No, it’s just a mind controlling device. Your foot calls for 20% throttle and this will give you 50% throttle. This you feel like it’s a more “spirited” ride. If you’d just hammer down in the first place then you really don’t need these.

I didn't feel any loss, and I rarely go over 3k rpm. that's more of an issue on naturally aspirated engines.

You're forgetting that it also erases throttle lag which is just as important. You can hammer down the gas pedal to try to achieve the same result buy you'll never get rid of the lag like the throttle tuners do.

Any tune can correct that. Also when I nail it, there is little to no lag. So please come up with another excuse.

Another excuse for what? Of course a tune can correct it, I don't think anyone in this thread is comparing tunes and throttle tuners. I can also tell you've never installed a throttle tuner because you say the same thing everyone says that has never tried one "just press harder on the pedal its the same thing". I was skeptical until I got one. You're also currently running a JB4 on an unknown map so you cant really compare the experience with your car against the OP's.

OP I stick by my advice, I'd give a throttle tuner a try unless you plan to run a JB4 or tune, then disregard and get one of those first.

No, they just allow you to adjust the pedal sensitivity and erase throttle lag.
Thanks NS_Stringer I have no plans on getting a JB4 right now but maybe later down the road. I will give the throttle tuner a try first.

it's surprising how much a pedal tuner will wake up your car, My only performance mod

Any recommendations on a pedal tuner?
