Dlr had one, not allowed to drive.

Sat in it. Not the most comfortable.

But this one is not for me, will be for my wife. She still drives a '09 Genesis V8. There is no way I could sell her a Stinger. It simply isn't nearly as comfortable or plush as her Genesis which still runs very well at 86k mi.

I'm more worried about all the "not allowed to drive" posts about dealers. For US spec/for sale models? That's insane.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...

heard not allowed to drive the Korean spec but not to be able to drive a us-spec is that what someone is saying? I would not even think of buying a car if I can't test drive it

They're not telling anybody they can't test drive the car at all - they just want some kind of commitment before giving you the keys. That's also stupid and will stop happening soon...

What kind of commitment the only commitment could be purchasing the car correct

I forget exactly what - people are talking about it around here somewhere. More or less, they want to know you're serious and, if I'm not mistaken, they want to run your credit or something. I forget exactly. The point is they're not telling anyone they cannot test drive the Stinger before they purchase it.

Technically not but they're erecting enough of a barrier that I'd either find another dealer or another car.

What they're doing is "being dicks" because for the first time they have a car that people are going crazy about - and have no idea how to handle it. It's like being ugly all your life, then getting hit with the handsome/pretty stick - and being unable to handle yourself.

I think I would be okay with a credit run. I think they are probably worried about joyriders. I mean if you're in the market for a soul or a lesser car wouldn't you want to Joy Ride the Stinger.

Absolutely. That's exactly what they're trying to do. Avoid tire kickers. But they're also scaring away legitimate customers with their lack of experience with and understanding of customers who typically deal with BMW and Audi sales people.

Well yes ,but they are not BMW or Audi it is Kia I know they're trying to change and they have a very nice lineup but it's still just Kia. I don't know it makes sense to me but and I'm okay with it

I've only dealt with my local dealers to request a test drive of a GT but they are bending over backwards get me to drive a 2.0t

Right, very true. They're trying to move up the ladder and not be "just a Kia" anymore. I'm sure you'd have the same ambition if it were your company. They don't want to launch cars like the K900 and Stinger and forever continue to be called "just Kia". "Meh". Ya know? So they're goal is to bring more up scale buyers into showrooms - and this is not the kind of behavior people accustomed to BMW and Audi levels of service - tolerate...

That's because they only have a 2.0T and they want to sell you a Stinger. If they didn't have a 2.0T Stinger - you know they'd be calling to get you in for a test drive of something else...

and those upscale dealers are also getting 10 to 15k premium on there comparable vehicle also. So is it worth that much more not to run your credit if you are serious.

I guess not. But it's obvious that nobody wants their credit run just to test drive a car that they might not even want...
