May 2020 sales

Wow, those sales are good for the Stinger! That should kill any rumors about the Stinger going away with it outselling the G70... Honestly a head scratcher. I think both cars should be selling really well considering the excellent value.

Quite impressive. That even beats all of the Genesis models combined (G70, G80, & G90) at 1,350.

All with very little advertising and no model year updates for car blogs to report. Word of mouth must be getting out there, which I imagine Kia is pleased with.

I'm sure they would be happier with higher sales but if the sales keep up at this rate and the next version pulls in even more folks, things look good for a second model.

Will need an EV, along w/ a hybrid or PHEV variants (which is what the new Genesis architecture is designed to accommodate) if they want the Stinger to sell in Europe, including Germany, its largest market across the pond.

Even Germany is really punishing vehicles that emit more than a certain amount of CO2.

Buyers are waiting on the new G80 and once that gets fully stocked, expect that to sell over the 1k mark like it used to do.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...

What hurts prospects for a 2G Stinger are KDM sales - which are abysmal.

May - 164 and just 1,091 YTD

The new G80 sold 7,582 last month.

Strange as it sounds, I don't think that the Stinger was intended for the KDM. It's "too big" to be attractive as a sporty ride. It's more sized for Aus and the US way of driving. EU? Pish posh. So, where US sales go, there goes the Stinger.

^ The KDM market prefers larger vehicles (look at G80 sales; the K9 outsells the Stinger by 3x).

But the Stinger may be too flashy (which is not the same thing as having a striking design - hence, Grandeur sales) and 4-door sedans are much preferred over liftbacks (even more so than here).

Regardless, poor KDM sales will play a significant role in whether we see a 2G Stinger.

Another decent month for the Stinger - 1,345 ((June).

But sales in Korea keeping to its low sales - 305.

In the past 2 months in Korea, Genesis sold over 15k of the G80.

That’s more than what the Stinger did in the US for all of 2019.
