Is anyone running a 275 tire on the stock 19" wheel on the rear of your Stinger?

@MerlintheMad thanks! Have had my Stinger for quite some time, but am finally getting around to doing some modifications. I appreciate your insight!
My "insight" is taken from here. :D I've seen many times that owners run 275 rear and 245 front, on OEM and aftermarket wheels. I have never run any size than OEM 225/255.

Haha well I appreciate it regardless! The pictures on this forum look good but it seem to have the bead right on the edge of the wheel. I just didn’t want it to be an issue under forces of hard pulls or anything like that.

although yes, you can probably run a 275, you may want to go down to a 275 30 to keep the wheel diameter nearly the same as stock

That said, on a RWD setup, a taller diameter from a 275 35 effectively changes the gearing slightly and helps with launching ever so slightly

I just mounted 275/30-19 on my rears to use when the weather gets nice here in PA. I was concerned about the bulge but it looks fine. I haven't heard of anyone else running a 275.

I'm about to mount my second set of 275/30-19 on on the rears and already on my second set of 235/35-19 in the front. No complaints or issues.

I will say this. I have my own tire changer and it was a bit of a bear getting the 275 on the rim. That being said, I am not special, and would expect any competent tire shop to be able to mount it.

I also come from the world of autocross where mounting wide tires on skinny wheels is common.
2yrs later how are things looking?

This car definitely needs something wider on the front imo. 225 is way to skinny. Pretty sure both my old Grand Prix's had a 225 40 16 and 225 40 17 set up but those were front wheel drive.

Just had to replace one...thanks PA roads. Dinky tire shop down the road couldn't get the bead to seat. I got it done at home. Still driving on them. No problems other than that.
