Some background: I came from the mk7 gti world. Never played with a jb4 and went straight to Cobb with that platform but I have a general idea of how to read a log. I know the basics of tuning and whatnot. I made myself a map 6 and got a log and from what I can tell it looks happy but I’m not sure 100% and if I may be leaving some power on the table. Can I get some help deciphering the log and advice on how to get the best power out of this thing? For mods I just have k&n intakes and denso plugs gapped too .022.

Also, I’m thinking my next mods will be intercooler and CPI, but I’m curious if a fatback is worth it for power gains too or if the only real gains from exhaust come from primaries.

Thanks in advance!

It looks really good considering no Meth or CPI. Whatever fuel you are running stick with it.

Thanks for the reply! Yea I was pleasantly surprised with this fuel too! It’s e30 but the e85 I used to mix is e85r. I feel like there’s probably a little bit left in it too before I need CPI so I’ll be working on it more tonight. What AFR is a good target up top with these cars?

If you have the fuel wires hooked up, Terry targets 11.9 which is a tad leaner than factory. He found HP on the table he could use by doing that. You could push it to 12.5 but ONLY if you're running Meth, CPI, or some type of race gas mix. (High Octane) That's just my honest opinion, running it leaner on boost can lead to big issues.

Agreed! I was moreso just curious. That’s how we would squeeze the last couple of hp out of the gti as well but yea lean isn’t the best on the car. Thanks for the insight.
