Am I safe to continue running map 2?

I noticed in the log, I'm getting some timing creeping up between 3 to 4.5 on the later runs. I wonder if that's because my iat's were going up or should I go back to Map 1.

The car is a 3.3L GT2 with the JB4 and BMS intakes running 93 octane. I also have Denso plugs at .022....forgot to mention those.

deviations are probably gas related. terry said earlier that if you pretty sure the plugs are correctly gapped and not experiencing misfires or stutters, that the deviations are likely octane related. I wouldn't abandon map 2 just yet. if you can get some good quality gas, you should be fine. others will chime in I'm sure. I'm not sure about intake temps causing any difficulty.

Yup just gas related. Mix with E85 or add an octane booster.

Here's a 4th gear pull from today. I filled up with a fresh tank of 93 last night. Everything is under 3 for ign2 through ign6 on this pull.

If I'm understanding this correctly, you want your timing corrections to be 3 or less on ign2 through ign6. Is that a safe bet or am I mistaken?

Yes, I think you are generally correct. I wouldn't go higher than map 2 unless you can work on an e30 mix or add WMI.

It looks generally ok, provided it feels smooth and strong with no stuttering, etc. Always try to get gas from a reputable station.
