Hi, I installed the JB4 and hks spark plugs gaped at .027 also have the BMS intakes installed.
1.Wanted to know if these logs where good on shell 91 gas.?
2. is the gap for these plugs to daily drive on map 0 and spirited once a week driving on map2 or should they be regaped?
3. Also any way to make sure I don’t have any air leaks Based on these logs just heard the engine and gave me a weird vibe on how it sound(the installation for the plugs gives lots of room for error i think)?

I'm going to be blunt so don't take this the wrong way..
1. Logs are not usable. You have to go WOT for a few gears. ie. From 0mph to 100, or 3rd or 4th gear pull at WOT, or 20-30 mph then floor it for as fast as that road will take you. Whatever it is, it has to be WOT. What you gave doesn't help us help you at all.
1.1 Don't use Map2 on 91 until we see a Log of Map1. Progressive steps keeps us from chasing issues. 91 is pretty weak and Map1 is all you may be able to run.
2. What did you read that gave guidance to gap at .027? All documentation guidelines are .022 ~ .026. You shouldn't of even put them in if that's the case. They need to be closer, most go with the .022 and have no issues what so ever.
3. Air leaks? I think you are hearing the BOV's. They definitely wake up once you install the JB and intakes. You will also hear the whoosh of air being pulled in now as you aggressively step on the pedal.

Thank you for your advise . I really appreciate it I think what I’ll do from what you told me is do
1. few runs from 0-100 on map 1 full pedal there is a few safe roads to do it around here. I’ll keep it on map 0 till I hear back that map 1 is working ok.

2.As far as the hks spark being gapped at .027 that’s on me I read a couple places that it was ok from .022-.028 however I think those where old old coments/threats also I read it’s easier to gap down a plug than up because gaping it up could damage it/weaken it . Once I have time I will gap them down to .024 since that’s a better place.

3. I had the intakes installed 3 months ago . So I think what I’m referring as sound is an extra like a slower not as loud intake whoosh.

Set your App up to record at 90% throttle, you can find it under advanced settings. This way you don't have to mess with pushing buttons, it will automatically record as soon as you floor it.

I wonder why so many "new" members get that "bad" info on the plug gap????? Even Terry preaches that on the site and his support forum?????? Especially, on the 3.3, it is not worth the pain in the butt to replace the stock plugs with an "inferior" gap.......

You are right it is a pain to replace the plugs. however we do it for our Stingers I feel that most owners really want to take care of their car specially if it looks as good as the stinger. as a new member on this forum I really found it hard and a little unclear on where to seek the definite information on the Hks plugs gap and somewhere where it was up to date as I understand the stinger engine/platform is evolving as it is new. Most of the time I ran into information where they where specifying the gap for the denso plugs and not the HKS plugs witch I feel they are better than stock and denso plugs.

The info on the BMS site does refer to the Denso plugs for the 3.3 and i can see how it can be somewhat "confusing" if you go with the HKS brand.........the gap is pretty important for several reasons and on the 2.0 it is not as big of a pain in the butt as those plugs can be changed in about 15 mins but the gap is still just as important. if you have ANY questions about any aspect of using the JB4, don't hesitate to shoot Terry and crew a quick email to their support forum or email...the support from them is spot on!!!!! and keep sending them the logs. Your Stinger will thank you for it.

On plug gap everyone and their uncle has a different opnion. We put our opinion out there, 0.022" for almost any aftermarket plug, or 0.022-0.026 if you're regapping the factory plugs. We've found 0.022 works best on the platform for almost all situations. But people can do what they want. Plenty of guys run 0.028" plugs and never have an issue. Others go 0.026" and have misfires, then cry to us about how they have to do it again to go down in 0.022". :)

Terry after reading this I’ll be doing the regap work to .022 in order to avoid any issues in the future.Meanwhile map 0 it is. I’ll do logs after the regap maybe before as well if that helps so it can be compared .yeah it’s not easy but definitely worth it/also can’t complain my fault for not checking in with you if I was not sure, before doing the work . Just ordered some tools arriving Tuesday that should make it easier to change spark plugs. Doing this JB4 thing got me to exited can’t wait to go to map 2 again when safe for my car but all in due time.

If it's not misfiring and running OK, whatever gap you went with (as long as it's 0.028 or below) then just roll with it. The only possible issue will be misfires and then if you get them do the work to fix it.

As I am not as car savvy as I would like to . Would it have an effect on performance / fuel efficiency To have the gap changed??

So I found out that some settings where wrong on my jb4 .I don’t think it caused any issues since now it’s running way better. I still have not gaped the plugs down and have some logs on map 1 hope these can tell if my car is good to use on map 2 . Still have been only using 91 octane. That page was all 0’s except the boost safety free changing it to these settings it good.
