• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

I had a mouse crawl up into my engine bay and chew the electrical harness for the auto heat transmission shift.
The dealership had to pull the motor and transmission to replace the harness as a lot of damage was between the engine and the firewall. I’m glad I had, under my comprehensive coverage, Rodent damage. The repair left me car less for over a week and a bill of $3500. My insurance paid a rental car and all repairs minus my $500 deductible. The mouse didn’t fair well either, as he fried himself on hot wires

What a beautiful ending to your short story! My "insurance" is a yard that attracts cats. Put out a treat and stand back. Don't FEED them, just entice them.

Damn this forum for making me really dig into my policy. Here's what geico's terms state -

Since it doesn't explicitly list out rodent damage, I called to inquire. According to the agent, this would fall under vandalism. Makes sense I suppose, animal vandalizes the car. Fortunately the garage is rather secure with no holes or other ingress points.

I was with Intact insurance and found out via the agent they offer three levels of comprehensive insurance. Only the gold package offered rodent damage. I had no idea when I signed up years ago That I had a choice of packages at of course different rate charges. I just signed on for what the agent at the time suggested . It worked out for me. ....this time

I was with Intact Insurance at the time . Unbeknownst to me they offer three levels of comprehensive coverage. Only the Gold package offers coverage for rodent damage. I had no idea. I’m glad I took the gold package when I signed on with them. Finally I got something out of an insurance company other than having them put there hands in pockets every time the policy renewed

I think a, p and q definitely qualifies today!! Glad I have this coverage :).

@1OttawaStinger I think it's a good idea to review the actual fine print of the policy periodically. Sure there are standards, but this is one of those nitty gritty little nuances.

I agree. I have since switched companies and made sure I have rodent damage on my coverage if it ever happens again.
