Ok, today I had my first major failure with the Stinger. 79k km on the dash.
I was in stop and go traffic, very slow. So the Auto Stop function was working over time but nothing unusual.

At one point, with te car (auto) stopped, I lifted the brake but instead of (auto) starting, the car gave a big message on the dash: “Auto stop deactivated, start manually.” and was also saying to shift the car in P to start it.
This has happened before, so you would normally just put it in P and press the start button and that’s it.
Well, today, it would NOT start. At all. Brake pedal was pressed. Tried many many times. Nothing.

I called road assistance and, 10 min later while I was waiting, I thought that maybe I should try again. Suddenly it started normally.
I’m supper stressed out this will happen again. Anyone ever experience this?
I’m scheduled on Tuesday at the dealer but I’m 100% sure no error was stored.

Please see video below:

No one? This gave me anxiety to the moon!
It's my worst nightmare to have your car stopped in the middle of a road at rush hour. I was also on the second lane so everyone had to pass me on the right.

Never happened because I always turn off auto stop.

Sorry to hear of your troubles. Like the comment before me, I never use the auto start/stop. Really dislike the feature to be honest.

Yup. I’m not to fond of the engine going on and off too frequently.

I was at the dealer yesterday and they said it’s the starter motor that is dying. Will be covered by warranty.
Advised to not use start-stop until the new starter motor arrives.
There was no error code stored but fortunately they had the same exact problem on a different car and deduced it’s the same cause. Hopefully they’re right.

Well, there you go: start-stop-start-stop-start-stop-start-stop; starter motor shot, go figure.

Start stop sucks! Buy an ev car instead.

I have the same issue . The replacement of the starter had fixed the issue ?
