Thread title says it all. Outside of aesthetic and handling upgrades, I believe the last immediate upgrade I'm going to do is a more capable intercooler so that I can close the performance chapter of my Stinger story for now :)

For those of you who upgraded their intercooler, do brand really matters? For example, the cheapest one I can purchase over there is the BMS one. I like that it comes with only the necessary pieces to make it as plug & play as possible as I do not want to replace all the tubing.

So yeah, a bit biased toward that one. But I'm looking for your opinions nonetheless.

Thanks a bunch guys!

I’m in the same boat as you. My next and probably last performance upgrade is the intercooler. I’m looking at the Ultimate Performance with the cold pipe addition. I’m sure BMS has a good one. I haven’t been disappointed with any BMS products. A lot of people get the Mishimoto but I don’t think I’m going that direction.

Same boat. I was leaning toward the Mishimoto as well, the price is high but it’s very nice stuff and comes with all the piping. However I am now considering the BMS. Since our CDN gas is so bad I have been running an e mix. After doing that for a bit I realize the need for the CPI kit with Fuel-it and the BMS FMIC is an nice plug and play fit. As for price the CPI/Fuel-it kit/BMS FMIC would all be about the same price as the Mishimoto. Also I’m pretty impressed with the support the community gets coming out of Burger so I think when the time comes they are the ones that will get whoever’s money I’m going to use.

I just pulled the trigger on the BMS intercooler. I have their CPI kit waiting to be installed and the feature of having the injector bung already in place was nice. At the end of the day my thoughts are that there isnt going to be much of a performance difference with whichever brand you choose.

BMS Intercooler is nice and a good value.

I have the Ultimate Performance soooo lol. BMS is g2g.

Thanks all for the input. Due to the positive feedbacks I'll stick to my original idea and go with BMS. Wheather is getting sketchy over here. I might wait until Spring 2022 since I doubt I could even enjoy the upgrade prior to it.

Just ordered my BMS intercooler. At the same time I ordered the air scoops. May as well do both at same time. How was removing the bumper and getting it back on when you did your scoops?

A dealer did it for me. From what I've heard it really isn't all that hard. Just need patience to make sure you go easy.

I've watched the videos, seems easy to do. Just worked like to see a video of the bumper going back on.

It's easy, just make sure you have a friend help and be really patient so you don't force any clips in the wrong spots. Also have a good look at how the bottom of the bumper fits with the under panel so you get that right when putting it back. Lastly, be patient. if something doesn't seem to go back in pretty easy, it may not be aligned properly.

Easy, I think it was 4 bolts. Hardest part is unhooking the wiring harness.

Pretty easy. I did it myself but it’s probably a little easier to have someone help either way not bad at all.

We have two options available for you here at the K8 Stinger Store. The first option would be the Ultimate Performance Intercooler (click HERE to view). The second option would be the Wagner Competition Intercooler (click HERE to view). We have both in stock so it would really come down to preference. Feel free to message me if you have any questions or if you would like to receive a discount on the one you choose.
