Looking for an alternative to Michelin PS4S

See my treadwear post I just made. I am replacing my rear Michelin A/S 3 tires at 15K miles, they are pretty bald. Bottom line is that they only lasted about 2-3 K more miles than the summer compound Michelin that was on the car from the factory. The one major difference his that they had a 22,500 mile warranty (staggered setup halves the warranty) and I got about $80 dollars adjustment on each tire.

I am starting be believe there is not a decent quality tire you can put on these and get more than about 15K miles on the rear.

I ended up going with Firestone Indy 500's. I have yet to drive it in optimal temps above 55 degrees F so I will have to wait and see in the summer. At about $100 cheaper per tire I suspect the grip to be less than PS4's obviously but if I can get similar other characteristics I would definitely be ok with it. And I think the tread looks nicer. I'll have to see how they do when they start getting through the tread. PS4's have great grip up to the wear bar in the tread when in dry weather.

Bingo! I used to work in the tire industry and Michelins are expensive but they seem to perform well throughout the tread life. My main issue with other brands is that they seem to get noisy, brought and have different performance as they go through the tread.
