Hi all. I’m looking at both the gt and gt1 models. I would love the gt1 but I’m concerned about winter driving. I’m in CT so sometimes there are bad winters sometimes not so bad. Would a good set of winter tires allow the stinger to be a daily driver?
Thanks
Mike

Plenty of people here drive in the snow all the time with winter tires. If you’re worried about it, get the AWD

You are going to need snow tires no matter what one you pick....the PS4 tires are awesome but only useable in temps over 10C (50F) and welcome to the hive!

Hi, Mike. The AWD Stinger is a beast in the snow, even on A/S tires. It's heavy and just crushes its way through snow. I'm not suggesting anything but cautious driving. This car hasn't even come close to getting in trouble on the road or getting stuck. But then, I'm an excellent snow driver. :P

There plenty of discussions about tires in winter. I choose A/S because they suit our most common driving conditions in the Valley and similar low elevations; I do not visit the mountains in winter.

Welcome to the forum.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
Here's the breakdown:

AWD + all seasons > FWD + all seasons
AWD + winter tyres > FWD + all seasons
AWD + winter tyres > FWD + winter tyres
FWD + winter tyres > AWD + all seasons

Winter tyres make the most difference in snow regardless of your drive type. If you can't or don't want to get winter tyres, you should absolutely get the AWD, it's the next best thing. If you don't want the AWD, getting winter tyres is strongly advised, depending on your climate, the amount of snow you get, and how likely you are to drive through it and possibly get stuck.
