What am I missing? The Stinger earned 4 excellents and a very good, while the Model 3 only earned 2 excellents and 3 very goods. What are the column headings? Are there more columns to the chart? How do the points relate to the column ratings? (Can you tell I don't subscribe to CR?)
Very, very nice, not matter how they did the rankings.
.........................nicely done ! and well earned ! ...................not a bad result in their first effort at it !! .................dont we all feel like we know something others will eventually get !!.......( thanks for posting ! )
I think they are basing it off interior space. A Forte and Elantra has better rear legroom than our Stinger. However, passenger car specs would classify it as more mid-sized to large. Who really know what criteria they decided to use for this one.
Still doesn't make sense to me how Stinger has higher ratings in two areas than the Model 3 and still earned fewer points. Were Tesla's points for styling and driving so high that they skewed the total score? (Hard to believe, since I think the Model 3 is kind of stunted-looking.) Were the Stinger's 4 excellent ratings just barely into the category scores? If any of you come across the details, please post.
I subscribe to CR. This is the customer satisfaction SURVEY of car owners I answered months ago. In my previous post I was pissed the Buick Regal had a better rating and a better road test score than the Stinger. I asked who is criticizing their Stingers?, when obviously they originally reported figures based on past Kia new car introductions (before this survey was tabulated.) They also tested the GT, but did not include that test in the rankings. Go figure. CR has been all over the map with car ratings. They do have some knowledgeable reports, they do acknowledge performance more so than in the past, but I'm still unconvinced on many of their findings. They seem to prefer the base models on many tests because they buy them (not loaned by the car makers) in a configuration they deem to be representative of their utilitarian minded, non-enthusiast customer base. The road tests are more about quietness, smoothness, and ease of control than pure driving satisfaction. They have also swung wildly away from objectively rating products to more social engineering and lifestyle coaching, lol. They can really get on my nerves.
