Has anyone installed longer rear studs on the rear axle? I want to add some 10mm spacers and definitely need the longer studs. stock without spacer had 10 turns for each lug nut, 10mm spacers only gave me 5 turns.

the service manual says to remove pretty much the entire rear spindle assembly to get to the hub from the rear, but no mention of replacement of studs, which hopefully would have a shorter method. Anyone try it?

I've researched on youtube, google, etc. and havent' found anything G70/Stinger specific.

thanks!

Why not using hubcentric spacers that have their own studs? Those should be the only spacers you should be running anyways.

I don't like that you can't tell how tight the underlying lug nuts are on those without removing the outer ones. and they're heavier.

And I’m not sure the factory studs won’t poke through too much on a 10 mm spacer of that type. There is a space in the back of the wheels to accommodate that, but the smaller the spacer, the more stud pokes through.

Has anyone tried using 10mm hubcentric spacers (with hub lip), and instead to installing longer studs, just using lug nuts with a longer shank? Like, my stinger came with OEM 12x1.5 mag seat lug nuts with a shank of 0.61”(minus the washer). I see available on eBay 12x1.5 mag seat lug nuts + cragar center washer 0.75” shank (again, minus the washer). That would give an extra 0.14” (~3.5mm) worth of thread turns. Feasible? I been thinking about this, was curious on the forums’ thoughts.

That is my next thought, but the deal breaker is most of those aren’t 21mm. Thus unless you replace all your lug nuts you’d need two different wrenches in your trunk in case of a flat.
