Now that the car has been around for 5yrs now, looking to get feedback from those who have driven 500 miles or more ...... I'm heading from Florida up to North Carolina and just checking to see comfort and fuel consumption. I'm driving my 2019 gt2 awd with 60k on it now and well maintained.

I've done Pittsburgh and Charleston from VA in mine a few times. Both are about 450ish miles one way. Not a single problem to report. Everything is smooth, even on my 20s. The beautiful thing about wanting to pass at highway(or above) speeds with a wall of low-end torque is that the car doesn't start wheezing and crap trying to gain speed. A flick down to 7th or 6th and it just scoots around.

30+ mpg is possible on a highway if you aren't being aggressive and are light on the throttle. Eco mode's drivetrain disconnect helps too, I hear but I don't use it.

Just got back from a trip to Tennessee and back home to New Jersey. Had 2 450 mile+ tanks on the way home with an indicated 28.8 mpg for the first tank.

I did 500 kms twice in the last 3 weeks. Once with the Stinger and once with the wife's little Venue.

The Stinger used a couple hundred bucks of gas but I got home with few aches and pains and in relatively good humour.

The Venue used a hundred bucks of gas but I got home tired, cranky, and with aches and pains galore.

Obviously I'm not the best traveler but the kia is tops in comfort.

To the OP, travel the road less traveled. You'll get more enjoyment from your trip. 500 miles of superslab puts me to sleep.

I did about 800 miles in one day. Yeah this was before this insane gas price hike but I still spent a pretty penny. Ride was pretty comfortable, gas mileage reflected my heavy right foot.

After all it is a GT car. It's perfect for long trips.

I’ve done over 2,000kms on a round trip from Sydney to Mooloolaba in QLD, this car was built for long distances, I felt great, no driver fatigue & excellent on fuel, averaged 7.3 litres per 100kms (32 mpg).

^^High elevation? Im lucky to get 32-35 in my 2.5T on long trips.. Getting that in the 3.3... how!@?#

Easy, freeway driving at 110kms per hour in Comfort with AC & cruise control on, running correct tyre pressures & premium fuel.
2 adults with luggage onboard.
Here’s part of that trip.

Huh. Well I guess cruising at 90mph hurts fuel consumption. The more you know

Recently went to Milwaukee and back: total of four ten hour days. MPG out averaged 28.5, returning the same way averaged 25 (got 31 on the last leg). I've taken over half a dozen long road trips in the Stinger (lost track of how many exactly) and not once have I ended a day's driving tired, cranky or stiff. Kia knocked the Gran Turismo goal out of the park.

Speaking of mileage.. Check this out..

This was earlier this evening in janesville, wi, 90 & 14, SE corner (or thereabouts). Don't forget, chase 5% fuel category this quarter. Cool pump, touchless. Best around here (PRIL chicago suburbs), is around $4.80 at the costco in lake county. In the ghetto (city), they rape you big time - $5.70 - $6.40 for prem.

Best I saw coming back (~100 miles) was ~33-34 m/g, keeping it ~70mph and accelerating grandma style. When I did my road trip (~1000 miles) back in june, I did see better mpg when I got away from this area. Maybe slightly higher elevation did have something to do with it. Chicago is around 600', I was upwards of 1-2K'.

No idea how my fellow GT drivers managed over 30mpg. Must be going downhill in both directions.
On one ~120-mile leg of the trip we just took, I had an indicated 31.8. Didn't use cruise, had it set in SMART with Coasting on, and tried to keep the speed under 80. That tank ended up at just over 28 mpg with 420 miles done and just over 1/8th tank left.

Just did Orlando to DC then back via Atlanta. Great trip, nice and comfy. 30MPG cruising around 78-80.

Long distance travel is why I got my Stinger.

I think the most was Vienna - Brussels - Barcelona in the same week - 2500 km. Or Basel - Bucharest in 2 days - 1900 km. Or a road-trip through Turkey - 4000 km in 10 days.
Never had any physical discomfort (I'm 35 and reasonably fit).

I do a 5 min bathroom + espresso break every 2h or 200km. It's mandatory by law (the break, not the espresso) when you travel for work and I've gotten used to this routine whenever I drive long distance. You don't realise it but it keeps you super fresh and I can usually easily go out for dinner and drinks after a full day of driving.

When it comes to fuel consumption, I think it's irrelevant because I have the 2.0 GT Line. I cruise at 87mph and get 8.2 l/100km.

I made the trip to Southern pines North Carolina.....nearly 700 miles in less than 9.5hrs and extremely comfortable drive .....cheers to the Stinger!!!
