So I’ve been watching Kia for a couple of years and excited about the Stinger...so I bought one...2.0 Premium...doing some performance add-ons to pull 300+ out of it...but dressing up first. Bought many exterior/interior items from Sal and all came quick and look great! I’ll be installing this weekend. Anyone have thoughts and/or pics of the carbon fiber rear script badge on a black car?

Thanks!

Best way I found to help remove the glue is a 3M eraser wheel you put on a drill, works great!

GooGone is what I used on my old Subaru, and it works great. IDK if I could stomach a wheel being put onto my brand new car.

3D Eraser is great. Used it to clear up hard water spots that nothing else could touch on my Optima... Having said that, I would never put it on a wheel or even use it on a car with known paint issues... It's a wipe on, rinse off application.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
No issues.

Thanks. I like the new black chrome badge for the front and script on the hatch.

Seems kind of sketchy to use heat...I'm thinking about fishing line or floss, and clean up with goo gone

As long as you use a heat gun with low setting (or hair dryer), keep it 6 inches away, and move it constantly, you won’t damage the paint. FYI. This was the dead of winter. Of course, in summer in the sun would likely net the same effect.

It really makes a Difference. Goo gone is great too. But even fishing line can (and in my case did) cause some damage. I had the most success heating up the area... slowly pushing rubber wedges in and working them around. Then more heat. Then using pry tool gently between the rubber wedge and emblem.

Well I may be going with overlays until summer. Thanks!

I'm pretty sure most of the paint issues when debadging come from the fact the badges are on the "plastic" panels, not metal. I don't think the paint has good enough adhesion to handle ripping a badge with crazy good glue off. Paint on steel usually has better adhesion, so you hear of fewer issues on cars with badges on the painted surfaces.

I found the leftover adhesive came off fairly easy if you just rubbed it off. I wore gloves to prevent getting blisters from the more stubborn sticky.
