Hey everyone! I just installed the LED Lit Devil's Claw Fog Light Bumper Canard Set on my 2019 GT1 on Saturday. The instructions say to wait 7 days to wash. What I'd like to know is if any of you have them installed and go through drive-thru car washes. If so, have you had any issues? I'm very confident in the 3M adhesive but figured I'd ask before I do. Thanks so much!

I don't have the LED version, but I just installed front and rear claws 2 weeks ago... I gave it about 3 to 4 days in dry weather, letting them go through hot/cold cycles in the weather (50F - 80F), before using any power washers.

No issues with vehicle washes so far. And I never use car washes with spinning cloth or hybrid materials. The car always comes out scratched, and nor do I want my claws ripped off by them...

The first problem is taking your beautiful ride through an auto wash. As for the 3M adhesión typically 2 weeks is what they say for any vinyl application and would assume at least half for non.

Guess I'm gonna have to power wash it from now on. I don't have a way to wash my car at home... Thanks so much for your help!

I know, Ric. Just easiest for me since there's a wash close to work. I wear business clothes and don't have a way to wash at home. Guess I'm gonna have to power wash on weekends from now on. I appreciate your help!!

I don't have a way to wash my car at home...
Distilled water with ONR (Optimum No Rinse) used weekly is the easy way to keep your car clean anywhere: I do it when I'm on road trips too: just drop into a grocery store and get a gallon of distilled water (I take my bucket and towels with me). Wash a section at a time and dry with microfiber. I use 14x24" white terrycloth towels, folded, and I flip to a fresh section as soon as the white starts to show dirt. If your car is really grimy it will need to be sprayed down first, at a hand wand car wash (I have one just up the road from our house; on road trips these can be hard to find; but I would wait to wash my car till I could find one; so far it hasn't been an issue since the road grime isn't bad enough to require a spray down): then finish up with the distilled gallon and towels. Do this in the shade or early in the morning / late evening (washing in direct strong sun is no fun).

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
I would also caution against subjecting the led claws to high pressure water. The seal between the middle light diffuser and top and bottom pieces probably aren’t water resistant. It could lead to the led lights failing early. I’ve had mine for over a year and they are still fine but wash my car by hand and am very careful around the claws.

Thank you so much for sharing your process with me! I will hand to give this a try.

Oh ok, great! Happy to hear from someone who has had the claws a long time. I truly appreciate this information. ❤
