Lease buyout in Washinton State

Has anyone done the lease buyout process in Washington State? Is there anything that I should be looking out for when doing this? Headed to the dealership shortly to pull the trigger on a GT2

Welcome! The lease buyout works everywhere. It's just that some states make you go through the dealer and not Kia America. And some states charge tax each time the title changes hands. So you get charged tax twice? That's what I've been reading and it pisses off those afflicted with this money grab. Nonetheless, aside from being out a few hundred more bucks, the buyout is the only way to go. Good luck! (hassles for some have been burdensome; but I had my title in hand c. one month after one phone call; so it can go smoothly too)

Just check how your state taxes lease.

Upfront on full car cost and again on buyout
On monthly payment and buyout
Or something else

Lease then buyout might end up costing more than getting other incentives depending on state.

sales tax will be levied, unlike a purchase, the sales tax will be based on where the car primarily resides. when you play the purchase game with dealers you can get them to knock off a bit based on sales tax differences where dealers reside. not with a lease.

there is a $300 early lease buyout penalty in the standard lease form. you might be able to negotiate that away.
