I have a 2019 Kia stinger gt and have tried to activate launch control many times.
I have had the car for about a month and still have yet to get the launch control ready to pop up on the dash. I have followed step by step but it always turns into a 30 ft burnout.

What I did
1) turned off traction control and stability control (held the button for ~5 seconds)
2) put the car in sport mode
3) depressed the break fully
4) depressed the gas fully
5) let off the break and held down the gas

Is this a driver error or something I will have to take in to get fixed? I have looked for other peoples stingers doing this but haven’t seen anything yet.

Recommend being in sport first.

Also, a lot of cars have sensors for launch control that want your steering wheel straight and the car on a level surface. The steering wheel one can be very subtle in not letting the system on. Regardless, if it's working, when you hold the brake and push the gas, to the floor, it should only go to the launch control RPM and it should say "launch control ready" in the driver's display. Mine does, although it's a 2.5, so it goes to about 2650 or so when I do this. If your RPM doesn't stop at the correct RPM or you don't see the message, I wouldn't go any further.

Are you holding the break and gas together at the same time? Also turn off the engine auto on and off.

Did you get it used?
maybe someone did a brake wire snip?

Welcome. Moving this to the Stinger section...

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
Welcome. Launch Control can be picky, as others have already pointed out.
... Also turn off the engine auto on and off.
And Auto Hold should be OFF as well.

Foot hard on the brake first and then gas pedal to the floor with foot still on brake. You must be forgetting something.

Figured it out the previous owner had a switched installed if on it will cancel the auto on and off and doing so it also cancels launch control!
PS if someone knows how to read JB4 logs please look at my recent post
