Latest Update on STOLEN Rafa

i just read on facebook's KIA Stinger Owners Club Australia/NZ, the owner of the stolen Rafa Stinger , says it has been found burnt out, the owner is from Mackay , Queensland, and says the Rafa is quite far away, possibly stolen for just a joy ride, but his friend is going to look at it for him, if he posts any photos , I will post them here for forum members here too see.

The owner has said he wants to upgrade to a GT.

It’s under 2 years old, so if fully insured he should get a full new for old replacement.

Glad he got closure , thought they would torch it, get rid of fingerprints etc but perhaps a blessing because they probably thrashed it and may have been damaged so hopefully he can get a new one and move on.

At least that is one positive to come out of it. He will get a 'real Stinger' now. (Sorry to any 2.0L owners.)

My 2.0 stinger is still pretty damn fun to drive haha...

Plus I got mine for a song ($36,000!!!)! And it's one of only 77 yellow stingers in Australia, being a 2.0 gt line as well I am sure there would only be a small amount of that 77 figure too.

Cant complain too much, honestly I would have liked a gt but no way i could afford on (mortgage and 2 little kids murder your wallet)

That's what I mean about the price! Couldn't say no... didn't really even have the money for this one, but drooled over them since they came out so went for it and made it work

You couldn't get much closer to me. I am in Jandakot, Glen Iris Estate. I have seen a yellow Stinger getting around but I don't think its you. It has the blue private plate. How did you get it so cheap. They were around $60000 new.

Yeh I thought the other yellow Stinger was a GT. Can't say I have seen you then. How long have you had it?. You must be a great negotiator. Has it had any paint issues?

I haven't had it long, only a month now. Sales on the 2.0T2stingers aren't the best, everyone goes for the GT so makes it easier to get a good deal on a gt-line. I know a few dealerships that won't even get in 2.0Ts as they just dont sell like the 3.3TT does as there isnt the biggest price difference between the two when your looking at the final price brand new.

It has a little bit of paint bubble in the clear coat about the front passenger door that showed up last week. Have taken it to magic kia, they took photos and are investigating to get fixed under warranty. That's the one perk of the yellow, lifetime paint warranty

That sucks that you are having problems with the paint. Has it previously been repainted. Makes sense that the dealers may only carry the GT model as these are making up about 95 percent of their sales. Still you got the deal of the century. Good luck with the paint issues.

To be honest I can't get a straight answer out of anyone whether it has been resprayed yet or not. It's really frustrating! The car was bought from an internal kia auction from the eastern states. Kia won't tell me any of its internal history.

I suppose either way, it has a problem now which they need to rectify. Bummer though. Did you know about the problems with the yellow colour prior to buying it.

I knew about the recall and that all the owners had been contacted and offered a complete respray of the vehicle or a replacement. The fact that i am the first owner other than kia I thought it would have been all sorted at least. Perhaps it was resprayed just not done the best. The clear coat is pretty week, I tested it today and i could scratch/dent it with my nail with not too much force as long as they fix it I'm fine with it. I love the car overall so no turning back haha

I don't know whether they will give me that option since I purchased it after the recall. I love the yellow. My last car was yellow too

If I was did, would go for deep chroma blue... If I could have afforded a 2019 I would have gone for the orange haha
