Hi all,

I recently installed my LAP3 tuned ECU and S4 WMI kit from them as well.

Acceleration at speed is a night and day difference - however I have run into an issue in lower gears, especially from lower speeds.

My 0-60 time (not launched just floored from a standstill) is approximate 4.6 seconds with hestitations appearing in shifting from gears 1-3.

I have linked a video to show acceleration with sound so you can hear the hesitation/slip to better understand what I’m referring to.

For awareness of supporting mods currently using:
HKS M45IL spark plugs
Injen Intakes
Jun-BL catless secondary downpipes
Wagner tuning competition intercooler

Tire setup:
255/35/R19 (square setup)

For the WMI kit, I am currently using the 49/51 water meth pre-mix from snow performance - couldn’t find info on if this is mixed by weight or volume online.

I am also using 91 octane pump gas (93 unavailable near me)

Unsure if this is an issue of timing being pulled due to spark plug gap/fouling issues, fueling issues with the WMI water/meth ratio, or related to solely the transmission (given I do not currently have the TCU tune).

Plan to troubleshoot more on my end soon, but wanted to see if anyone else running a stock TCU with a lap3 stage 2.0 tune had similar issues. Thanks for any info you all may be able to provide. Can also provide logs from LAP3s WMI kit if needed.

Woohoo

Well, First off, Logs are a must. For me personally, I prefer the CSV version so I can open it in excel to see the data in spreadsheet form. Second, The video doesn't help that much unfortunately, But what I can see, the stock TCU is behaving as normal. The Stock TCU is extremely lazy when paired with any kind of ECU tune or piggyback, because its not expecting to run through the gears that fast.

my first advice will be to try the same testing again, but making sure you dont hit the kickdown switch, as that stalls the car for half a second or so on takeoff.

Also use straight meth. This will improve your octane to a higher level. What you are using isn't really adding that much octane.
