Lap 3 stage 1.5 ecu tune initial thoughts after first drive - “Oh Sh*t!” This thang is an animal now and moves. Wish I would have done it sooner instead of waiting. For ppl still on the fence it is well worth it and comes with that peace of mind reliability factor behind it. *Side note - I stripped one of the three main bolts holding the ecu frame in place initially trying to install it. Had a chance to take it out to my shop this morning to replace bolt and check engine light comes on, auto hold and traction and stability comes on. Goes into limp mode. Pull over and waited five minutes and cruise out to the shop the rest of the way. New lap3 ecu dropped in and no more CEL and everything feels buttery smooth. I had this code of P061B00. It cleared itself. Backstory this code has appeared before while completely stock and Kia replaced the ecu. Should I be concerned with the new ecu dropped in ? I feel confident that everything is good but just wanted to run it pass the forum.

Got a chance to do some spirited driving home from work today and this lap3 tune is the real deal. Worth every penny. Car is a animal now. Played with some mustangs coming back home and was blowing the doors off of them. I know it’s solid if I get the thumbs up from other drivers lol . Getting this baby on the Dyno on Monday

Nice! Post those #s

I’m going to get it on the Dyno on Monday so really looking forward to that.
Do you have a way to log it so you know how much timing you are pulling? if not, that should be your next investment.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...

I don’t. I know a lot of ppl use the jb4 for logging parameters. Is that good to use in tandem with the tune? And what other options are out there for logging ? Possibly a Dyno tune to dial things in ?

JB4 is the best logging device you could get because of how much data it records compaired to the Lap3 device and generic OBD2 data recorders. As for a Dyno tune, just don't. It will mess with your Lap3 tune and no dyno tuned car has come anywhere close to any of the Big name guys.

A lot of ppl local that I know have the lap3 ecu tune and just run it by itself. Haven’t heard of any problems with the lap3 tune. Logging would be just to make sure things are running correct ?

Yes, its realistically for peace of mind. If your car doesn't feel right somewhere down the line, the Logs can tell you why. Its also works as a meth/CPI controller if you wanted to go that route down the line, so it has other benefits as well.

Get a JB4 and turn on bit 0, 5, and 6. Go to dyno just to measure your hp/tq. Don’t let them touch your ecu.

@StingerbyAdoom @ChaneRZ I know a lot of ppl running the lap 3 ecu tune for 3+ years without logging parameters. I understand the peace of mind factor and ability to look into data. I’ll try to find a used jb4 I guess.

When you to get your car put on the Dyno they can how the car is running correct ? As far as parameters and what not ?

Better safe than sorry for sure

Nice thing about pairing a JB4 with a flash tune is if you do need tuning changes for a specific fuel or condition, which many do, the JB4 can be used to fine tune it also.
