Hi Guys, new to this forum
I'm looking to purchase a new GT2 Stinger tomorrow, I will endeavour to get black alloys either painted original alloys or new aftermarket. However if I go for the standard but painted alloys, does anyone know where to get the centre wheel caps in black instead of the standard grey ones. Thank you in advance.

congrats on getting your new ride tomorrow, what colour ? welcome to the Hive :)

Welcome!
The caps only come in grey. A member posted a pic of his which he painted black but I can't recall which thread...perhaps the "what did you do" one.

Welcome @Downunderstinger , Congrats on purchasing a new Stinger soon, let us know which colour , and post a photo when you can.

Congrats on the new Stinger, welcome aboard. Have to say I’m conflicted with a Kiwi using down under as a handle, traditionally a term used for Australia. Just because we claim Phar Lap, pavlova, Crowded House, and Russell Crowe as ours doesn’t make it right. :p;)

Oh also feel free to take Russel Crowe back anytime you want :D

Lol. Your post is almost word for word what I was about to post. Except I’d forgot about pavlova and I was using Split Enz instead of Crowded House.

Oh, and welcome.

To be fair he’s probably actually in Bondi, that’s where most of the Kiwi’s are

Any shop that powder coats can also paint. My OE center caps are painted black. @westcoastGT recently painted his caps black as well. He did his own. I had mine done at $25 apiece. (And btw, my OE rims are only for winter driving now.)

Welcome to the forum and good luck acquiring your Stinger!

Welcome aboard and congratulations!

A local body shop can change the cap color for you.

Hi Guys thanks for the advice and banter from the Aussies, all good.
The term Down Under is a colloquialism and refers to Australia and New Zealand. It comes from the fact that these two countries are located in the Southern Hemisphere. Agreed Downunder was originally referring to Australia, by Matthew Flinders. But any country in the southern part of the globe could be referred to as being Downunder. It's good a kiwi can take something Australia and call it its own, as referred to above, Splitends, Crowded House etc etc. By the way you can keep Russel Crowe...haha

Sorry been tied up with a house renovation so haven't had much time for the computer. I finally purchased the Stinger on Sunday just gone, white GT, with black painted alloys. Fortunately the black centre caps will come with the wheels, so my query is now superfluous.

Bloody dealer wanted $1890 for the fours wheels to be painted with the centre caps, hence my query as I was going to get them done myself. In the end I got him down to $1000, possibly could have got them done cheaper myself but at the end of the day, I don't mind paying a little more for convenience. And of course they will come with the Kia warranty now. Sorry can't show a photo at this stage as I won't see the car for 10-15 working days, as they have to paint the wheels and I'm getting the bi modal exhaust fitted. Additionally I'm ordering from Korea and UK, body kits. Korea, M & S 'S' type rear spoiler and rear diffuser. UK Maxton Design front splitter and back corner splitters. Together with tints etc. So hopefully once received and fitted it will be a nice looking Stinger. Thanks again. Cheers

No no no no no! Down Under refers to Australia, there’s no “and New Zealand”. It’s our job to steal your stuff and claim it as our own, there’s not a provision that says you guys can do it back to us. Even the song Land Down Under is so Australian that it inadvertently plagiarized Kookaburra Sits in the Old Gum Tree....allegedly  it doesn’t mention NZ in the lyrics.

We have Down Under, Sunburnt Country etc, you guys stick to the Land of the Long White Cloud, Shaky Isles, and Footrot Flats

Congrats on all the Stinger related stuff, that’s the important bit.

Oh we still don’t want Russel Crowe :D

ok ok ok...you keep the down under tag, so long as you give us Phar Lap back...we'll cancel the nz version of down under, but only if he is returned in one piece..ha

Good luck on that!
Looking forward to seeing pics when all is complete.
