Kia Website Update

I like that two tone look. :p I know I'll be the only one. :o

Interesting: Sunset yellow is shown as an option on the 360° rotation view. Maybe I missed an update, but I thought this was not expected for US market. They also show the cup holder cover.

You're right. They're still showing that cup holder cover...

Ok, quick obsevations: pictured with screen with bezel, cup holder cover, non-U.S. license plate style; colors include Sunset Yellow, but the white is now Snow White, not Snow White Pearl. So we STILL don't know what we'll be getting.

I know, I know...their marketing materials still leave more questions than answers. The fact that they built a psuedo-configurator with that color seems a little less like a sloppy photo selection, though. I sure hope Kia people read these forums. I don't expect them to change anything at this point, but would be nice if they'd realize we do notice these accuracy issues, and, frankly, it speaks poorly to their business in general if they aren't able to produce correct marketing materials this close to availability.

The overhead airbag photo also shows the 4-button rear-most console, which includes the 360° camera button. In contrast, the interior 360° color configuration only shows a 2-button console (with a 3rd blank).

(See this post for comparison of buttons.)

One of the photos that shows the cup holder cover has the E badge on the steering wheel, so some of these are Korean market spec photos. The interior 360 view shows the G70-style infotainment display, QI wireless charging mat, and no 360 camera button. And it looks like the dark-grey Panthera Metal color option is missing, which really sucks if true, I had my heart set on that one.

This is just so sloppy... I really don't think we will truly know how these cars are going to be equipped until they show up on dealer lots. I have no confidence in their marcom team at this point.

Even at this stage - cars reported to be on the lots in December - Kia marketing can't get their details right. Geez, what the hell is wrong these people? Is it likely that this screwed up presentation is reflected also in build quality?

That, at least, I am still pretty confident in. I think the car is good, it's just that the rollout is being hampered by a marketing department that is not at all used to this kind of attention. That team is not really under much scrutiny when the rollout is a new generation Soul or Optima. But now that they're trying to be players in the enthusiast market, I think they'll find they need to up their game.

Frustratingly referencing a previous post --I am losing hope for Deep Chroma Blue......

I find it somewhat unbelievable that they would stock the US with “photo op” cars in a color that they will not offer here.

That would either be mean, dumb or both.

I guess we are at both.

And this is confusing --are 18" GT wheels part of the option?
All Season?.webp

If there were problems with build quality, wouldn't the press (especially those who keep harping on the fact that the Stinger won't measure up to the Germans) be pointing out initial quality problems with the cars already on the road in S. Korea? Beyond that first video we saw of an engine fire, I've heard nothing about problems. I know, it's barely been 6 months, but I think the haters would be finding things to crow about by now if they could find evidence of anything.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the promotions folks are sloppy, not the company as a whole.

I think 18" are only non-GT. Heck, it may be an option if you want.

Agreed, we are at both.
At this point, I'm beginning to think they are running so close to production time, they probably don't have any US/CAN photos at this time. This can be argued as both ingenious and ridiculous. Ingenious to keep us in suspense, make us wonder, keep us wanting to see the car in person, to get foot traffic in the door, then; BLAMO! Everyone buys one at once. :) Ridiculous because of the same reasoning as Ingenious! LOL

I forget which thread this was in but someone posted the European brochure a while back and I was saying Kia should just change the units and ad copy and release the North America brochure. Someone was saying that it's not that simple and surely they'll replace all the Euro-looking photos with more American locations. Well I notice on that page now they're using a bunch of those photos from the Euro brochure so I'm expecting they'll be in the NA brochure. Just another reason why Kia has no excuse for being so late to the game with getting concrete finalized information out in North America.

I think the 18" wheels are an option only for AWD. If you want all season tires instead of the summer pilot tires you get 18" wheels.

They have 'em in Australia as well - and there are a lot of serious automobile enthusiasts over there. So we'd definitely know if there were build quality issues. The marketing department is on it's own here...
