Anyone know if the Kia Telluride or Kia Soul shifter will fit a GT1? Love the look of the GT2 shifter but it’s electric, not mechanical so I don’t think you can swap them. I think the Telluride and Souls are mechanical so maybe it’ll work?

Not digging the GT1 shifter I have, looks cheap IMO.

It looks like it might.

I’ve swapped shifters on my Audi’s and it’s a pretty simple job. Had to reuse the leather boot as that usually is a different size.

You might just have to bite the bullet and order one to check fitment.

These look so much better!

From the pictures it looks do able. And a lot better, but until you take the river boot off each you won't know. Didn't somebody in here but a telluride? Maybe they can take a quick peek

I can't find any online sites that sell the 2020 Telluride/2020 Soul/2019+ Kia Forte parts to see if I can even buy it.

I did come across the 2016-2018 Kia Sportage shifter and from the pictures it looks like it may work. I still like the Telluride shifter look the best, but this Sportage one is still better than my GT1. eBay has them for about $30-$40 depending on if you get the boot or not.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
Got the 2016-2018 Optima/Sportage/Cadenza shifter and installed it. You definitely need to buy it with the boot as the collar doesn’t match the original Stinger collar. Part for the one I got is 46720-D4200W and I found it for $34 shipped (with the boot, which you need because of the collar lock ring). Here’s the pix, I think I could have done a little better trimming the boot and getting it to match better but it’s fine for now.

Tools that helped me were:
  • channellocks, to remove the clip that holds the collar up inside the boot
  • super glue, to take down the boot to the new collar
  • plastic trim removal tools, to remove the original shift boot from the center console
  • small scissors, to trim the top edges of the boot so it folds nicely into the new (slightly smaller) boot collar.
I like the simpler, more elegant look of this shifter over the original Stinger one. Thanks all for all your tips!
