KIA teases K5/Optima again, in two different ways

This "evolutionary" pic is more practical. I could see that one coming. The garish "SEMA" "revolutionary" offerings are going to remain concepts.

When the Optima offers a RWD, and rear biased AWD trim, with a 3.5L twin turbo engine, with the styling of the Stinger, then I could let the Stinger go. The hatch is an issue: a complete redesign of the chassis back there would be necessary: and somehow I don't see the Optima going that direction.

This one looks wayyyy better.

In my opinion, sportback>an ugly box> sedan. finally some non-broring cars! Sedan sales have been slow here. If the stinger was a sedan I would probably not be interested in it.

It would really be cool if they did a real sport version that had that rear end design, wide fenders housing some wide 19 or 20" wheels with AWD and yeah, that 3.3T under hood. The would need some better, sculpted, sporty but comfortable seats as well, with some more leg bolstering.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
The panel gaps on that rendering are impressive ;)
