Got an email from MnSoft:
Summer 2020 new map update with link to list of eligible vehicles. So I went there and there was one available for my 2018 GT2.

Downloaded it to an SD card, went into the setup, info and choose 'Update'.
Got the message that this version is already installed, do you want to proceed? I did do the 1.45 update earlier this year.
But why would they email me about a new version, calling it summer 2020? So I shrugged and proceeded.

It took around 20 minutes and completed with no problems. I compared the new software info with the version before the update and they are all different??? So it appears to be a for real update. Now WiFi is available and connects. Here is a pic.

The new map version is: NAM.13.47.44.680.101.5
The new NAVDAPNAM is: KMC.200316.b904be86

Hope this may help anyone else who got the email.

All the flap about error codes (on the other threads), and ambiguity at the download websites, and withal still inaccurate (behind) maps: I'm going to wait to even touch my NAV, because, "If it ain't broke, don't mess with it", is a mantra I live by. Thanks for the information. I am tucking it away with the rest. And I read all this stuff.

Very interested that you have WiFi showing up now.. Any chance you got a android phone and tried to see if you can do wireless AA? I just did this update as well but on a 2019 but don't see any WiFi options.

AA only connects with cable or blutooth for me.

Ran the update today (CK19.USA.SOP.V115.200401.STD_H) on my 2019. It did not add the Wi-Fi, but it's not surprising. The original US 2018 firmware also had Wi-Fi, which was later removed whereas the 2019s and 2020s never did. According to the release notes, 14.5 didn't actually add any new functionality over 14.0 besides POI and roads.

The update was downloaded and installed with absolutely zero issue.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
Hmm, That was one of my biggest complaints about this car, no wifi option. Coming from a Chevy 2500 HD, it had all the bells and whistles to include WiFi. I could do a hotspot from my phone and tie the truck to it and do about anything. So what you're saying is the 18 models will get that functionality but not the 19's?

It does seem according to the OP's post that they indeed brought it back for the 2018s. Maybe there truly is some hardware difference between the US 2018 and 2019+ headunits. It doesn't make a lot of sense because back when we used to be able to access the diagnostic menu, I distinctly remember there being flags/settings for Wi-Fi hardware.

On another note, I don't know if it was added in the 14.0 or 14.5 update since I never actually use the integrated maps, but there is now an option to see GPS speed overlaid on the map, next to where it shows the speed limit. I remember someone on here was complaining that it wasn't available before. It is now.
