Hello there

Me and my partner recently bought a Kia stinger. The issue we have is the left wing mirror gets stuck in the upright position when changing the seat mode. I am just wondering if anyone has had this problem in the past and maybe be able to give me some advice if it’s fixable or whether it will have to go back into kia.

Thank you

Hey @Jessiejayjay,

Unfortunately, I am unable to answer your question.

I wanted to hop on here to congratulate you on your Stinger and welcome you to the forum!

If you need any parts, OEM or Aftermarket, I can help you get the best prices.

In the online 500+ page manual you will find there is a description of the mirrors potentially becoming stuck while the car is in the reverse position if they are adjusted too far out. This is where the mirrors tilt down when the car is in reverse. The mirror switch has to be in the left or right position not centre position for this reverse setting to occur.

You may also have an issue that the mirrors have simply been adjusted to the Upper position then set in memory to this position.

You mention the seat adjust.

I presume this is the memory 1 or 2 position which sets your seat position, steering wheel position and mirrors position after someone has set these up, pressed set then button 1 or 2.

I suggest someone has set the memory position whilst the mirror is in the upper most position.

You need to

1. Turn the vehicle ON by pressing the start button twice. Leave your foot off the brake so the engine does not start.
2. Adjust the seat and mirrors and steering wheel manually (by that I mean the electric settings) to the positions you want them to be set to
3. Press SET then Button 1 or 2.

Pressing button 1 or 2 after that should adjust your seat, steering wheel and mirrors to the preset configuration.

I think the electric parking brake also needs to be set in order to set/use the memory seat function. At least that is the case with my car.

Welcome. Just noting that this topic has been moved out of the community lounge and into the Stinger Exterior forum...

I have set the memory simply by being stationary in traffic. The handbrake wasn't set nor was Park. The vehicle only has to be stationary.
