Well, I guess all the important information is in the title. But, yes, Kia sold 1021 Stingers in the USA for the month of January in 2018. Discuss...

edit: ...and as @CO-bound pointed out later on in the discussion, the BMW 4-Series sold 1585 times and the Audi A5 1599. As he said, "Considering their numbers also include coupes, convertibles, and performance models (M/RS), the Stinger is doing pretty well."

Me? I'm very impressed! Very... This is a Kia - it doesn't have the brand cache that BMW and Audi have. The Stinger is selling very well!

Where's mine? All those cars and not one to my specs, so I have to factory order one? Grrr...:(

I think the more interesting thing is to see how it compares with their other sales:

When you consider that the average selling price of these 1k+ stingers is probably around $40k-ish, AND that they are in their 1st full month of sales nationwide (so limited marketing/exposure) this is really pretty impressive. It beat out the Cadenza pretty easily. I'd love to see how it compared to the top-spec Optimas as well. This is a great first month for the Stinger.

Good call on the entire list - and I agree that this was a solid first month for the Stinger. It's not a cheap car and it's not heavily marketed yet. Wait until the Super Bowl ads...

I always wonder whether these numbers are 'delivered to customer' or 'delivered to dealer'. Can anyone clarify that?

I know up here its customer , when the transfer papers are registered .I'm sure its the same there too ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

That isn't bad, in fact I'd say that's impressive for a car the general public will know nothing about.

Once they get a few more commercials out and the dealers stop the price gouging nonsense, more folks will start buying and with more on the road, interest will grow and we should see more cars out there. Plus some folks are going to wait until closer to summer to get their shiny new ride.

Curious, why should I care how many Stingers KIA sells? I'd rather see a chart that shows the markups going down. :)

Feel free to post on your area if you can (UK?) This thread is for all sales countries and regions. :)

Oddly enough, I have not found Canadian sales yet.

Well no one is holding a gun to your head and making you care of course... but how well the Stinger is going to sell has been a pretty common discussion around here, so seeing actual numbers is probably interesting for some.

And if you are legitimately asking for a reason to care, then I would say that it could matter to you for the resale value of your Stinger (providing you have one or are planning on getting one). The popularity of the vehicle I would guess plays a part in value. Another reason to care is that the better this car does for Kia, the more support Kia will put into the car. Will they continue to make the car? Will they start making more of them? Less? Maybe they will change up the options or color choices? Put more effort into the features of future model years? More third-party support? And don't forget what the success of this car means to the auto industry in the US as this $40-50k performance sports sedan market is not really very crowded at the moment.

That's an impressive # for the Stinger in general, I would imagine 60-70% of 1021 sales were based on the 2.0t. Glad I had contributed to that # last month.

It's more impressive when you consider how the kia dealers doens't know how to treat a 50k car customer.
kkkkkk

I still very disappointed how the sales people are in USA.

I would really love to know the answer to that question...

They'll get better. They need time. They're not used to selling expensive vehicles. I know they have the K900 - but they never sell them. Not enough, anyway. They'll learn...

One other cool thing to know is the Stinger outsold the Cadenza in December as well, while the Stingers were still just trickling in.

I can't speak for other dealerships but we haven't sold a single 2.0T yet. All our sales have been 3.3TTs. We've got a snow white pearl base on sale marked down almost $2,000 trying to sell our first one lol.
