I love the brand, I now own my 3rd Kia in 14 years. My first being the 05 spectra5. I heard all the horror stories out there I was scared I bought a turd based on reputation alone. I drove that car for 10 years, giving her up for the 14 Optima sx turbo drove her until the release of the 18 stinger. Which i followed from it's very first concept. The spectra had 163k miles and never left me on the side of the road, the Optima was the same way, and now my stinger. Which i love love LOVE. I am also in love with the Telluride, may be a good reason to buy an SUV. Kia has come a long way since my little spectra 5. Don't buy into the horror stories, every brand has had their issues, Kia is one of the best ones when it comes to standing behind their product. You won't regret it, if you take care of it, it will take care of you. As with any car proper care and maintenance and you have a reliable, beautiful car. Happy shopping!

all good on this end. love the car. waiting on the telluride, I love the styling and that interior is stunning.

My first KIA. Hyundai Corporation has built a reputation for reliability and quality that even I heard of over the years, and I am not a "car guy" in any sense of the term. My mother's Elantra was always a reliable, good riding sedan. KIA lagged behind in my estimation. But the Stinger changed all of that: first of all because it is such an impossible type of car for "a Kia": that alone made me do a double-take. I kept looking the Stinger over, until I drove one and that sealed my fate. In over ten months I have zero complaints: the various flaws and even fubars that some drivers have mentioned and even described in detail have all happened to other Stingers, not mine. My car is flawless, even in the winter (no extraneous noises have manifested).

My wife has a 2013 Optima and I have a 2018 Stinger GT. We both love them. The only real problem is the KIA dealers. Lots of half-ass work, not the car's fault.

depends on the dealership, though. Cause mine is great.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
My dealer is great too. I'm into month eleven of our "honeymoon".:D

Mechanically Stinger is rock solid. Engine, transmission suspension all work well. However lots of small quality glitches, rattling sunroof, rattling hatch, paint issues, electronics bugs, interior rattles. I’d say buyer beware on early production of Telluride. I’m sure it will be stout mechanically but given my Stinger experience I’d wait for Kia to get bugs out.

Kia dealers are sub par in SF Bay Area. Probably because they don’t pay enough. One dealer was decertified from doing engine work their crew was so bad, other dealer had trouble keeping mechanics and warranty repairs not performed to my satisfaction.

Owned Koreans since 1990 few problems, own a 2014 981 and a R8 both given me already minor and major problems, maybe its just me. But in y experience Korean cars since early to mid 2000's are very reliable and if they have problems is CHEAP fix, try to get a part replaced on any German. Regarding built quality excellent non of my Koreans have given me rattles but my Porsche 981 has several rattles since the door panels have warped due to Florida weather. Be aware before jumping into a German car, if anything brakes and you are out of warranty it will be potentially painful.
And regarding dealers, yes its a hit or miss situation My Audi dealer dragged me for 6 months before they repaired a problem I had on my R8, so its not a given you will get awesome dealers just cuz the badge.
I am so confident on the reliability of Kias that I told my dealer to let me know when they get their first Telluride will be trading my Wife's Sedona, the new Telluride is amazingly handsome in and out.

My 2018!GT1 Feb 18 build has Ben flawless this far.

No quirks or rattles.
